Is this cold air setup for the turbo kit I assume? If so, awesome. I appreciate the quality R&D you are putting in here.

They have an angled mirror on a stick that allows them to look under the car without even having to bend over. They look for the cat(s). I'm still contemplating on what I'm going to do once my 2 years run up here in TX.

Yeah, can't wait! My friend is picking up an FR-S and says he doesn't /need/ boost but it's only a matter of time before he comes around. Then there's 3 of us!

We can petition Don to create a "heat shield" or "underbody plate" that covers the turbo but leaves the cats visible.

Then when you go get smog'ed remove all the intercooler piping (maybe the intercooler too), remove the air intake (have to block off the compressor intake with something), install the stock airbox etc, and re-flash the ecu to stock. You also might wanna find a way to permanently open the wastegate so the exhaust is not spinning the turbo too much.

If you are going through all that trouble, why not just go ahead and take the turbo completely out? If you leave some of the intake in tact, it will probably take the exact same amount of time.
Seems risky leaving the turbine connected and blocking off the compressor.
