At this moment I'm listening to "Hobo" by The Plimsouls.

Not much of what I'm listening to right now, but I'm previewing the upcoming album from Kings of Leon.!

That would be awesome to have in the background with a glass of wine in one hand while chilling doing something but I'm not sure what.

Why do you say they are polarizing? I know nothing of the band and Wiki wasn't able to help.

They were extremely popular and extremely hated at the same time.

What were the reasons for being hated? Their music sucked? The lead singer was a mass murderer?

I didn't care for them so I didn't pay much attention. I just know a lot of people who hate them with a passion and I have never been given a reason why except "it's Nickelback". There are videos of them being boo'd off stage.

The reused a section of music between two songs once iirc.

Also they are generic rock so normally appeal lot of Kens and Karens, so if somebody with an opinion says Nickelback is bad then they take it and spread it like wildfire.

Spuds, dig yourself out of the dirt your musical history knowledge seems to be buried in. Nickelback has been around for 25 years whereas the terms Karens and Kens is a recent construct of social media. (As in, considered to be subjective and not based on empirical evidence.) Nickelback is one of the most commercially successful rock bands of the last 20 years, Canadian or otherwise. Some people can't stand others that are good at things that they themselves suck at. Haters gonna hate!
Yes, I'm a BIG Nickelback fan and I'm far from any Ken you may know or have seen in a meme!! I also have retained more then the average amount of musical knowledge over my lifetime. I don't have to be told what's good or what's bad by some print rag, e-zine or on-line forum. I have a very eclectic taste from Lee Aaron to Zappacosta. (Yes I could have said ABBA to Zappa but I was keeping it Canadian, eh!)

I'm not entirely sure what you think I meant, but the intent was that a lot of people who publicly don't like them might still enjoy the music if it weren't so popular to dislike them.

I personally think Nickelback is fine. I'm not going to go out of my way to listen to them, but I have a few songs in my playlist from time to time.
