Giving Erased a watch since it's available on HBO Max. I watched the live action TV series a few years back on Netflix so I vaguely remember the plot and twist, but figured the anime might be nice since I've been out of things to watch.

Late reply, but I tried it a while back and couldn't get into it. One of the local 86 guys here has had a KonoSuba character wrapped onto his car (Aqua, I think?).

The anime is also on Netflix. It's good, didn't watch the live action version though. Let me know which you prefer.

Definitely will let you know. So far the one thing I still distinctly remember is the filmography of the live action. Lots of great establishing shots to teach you the kind of places it takes place in.

I'd say about even. The art style wasn't my favorite, but not bad by any means. Story worked just as well, just as suspenseful even remembering the twist. The ending is executed differently in the two, but not significantly enough to make one top the other.

Interesting, relatively unrelated thing I caught: I noticed a lot of the theatrical soundtrack (for lack of a better word/phrasing, basically the non-OP/ED music) was SUPER similar to Sword Art Online's. I'm not enough of an anime person to know if they shared a studio or something, but I'm going to assume they used the same sound studio for the normal background music, which I enjoyed and is one of the things that I enjoy while watching SAO as well because it gets me into a suspenseful mood pretty well.

Edit, did a quick search and most of the 'where to stream' info seems to be out of date.

+1. I'll remove a few that I'm putting on the back burner (simply because the first couple of episodes didn't intrigue me enough), and replace them with some from this list.

Had a recent recap on some of my recent favorites

Akame ga kill
Hellsing ultimate
Castlevania
I've been on and off with black clover. Stopped watching after peak of elve arc. Started reading the manga which is farther ahead and I'm looking forward to what's to come.

Also been following Kengan omega manga. Fighting anime similar to Baki but more grounded. Manga has excellent art.

Same with one punch man. The Manga art is fantastic.

Akame ga kill is sooo good. One of my favorites of the past few years for sure. I rewatched it just earlier this year (fuck, last year *eye_roll*) when I was bored stuck at home.
