Never heard much of any complains about the 370Z's interior from anyone before. Although, that is all personal taste. Most like clean and simple, some don't. It's all ice cream at that point.

I'm going to chalk your "unbiased" review up to trying to justify your purchase while trying to put another car clearly in another class down. Feels good, doesn't it?

The Z is quick yes, but not to an impressive degree, I guess I should have been more specific. Nothing on the Z wowed me and the one thing I expected would was the power. The FR-S is slow but the styling, handling and feel of the car won me over

Lol you say I am trying to justify my purchase? You dont see me trolling 370Z boards to cheer myself up. I bought the better car and the reviewers agree with me. Youre right that does feel good, really good actually

I'm a Z owner, and I love it very much.

But if everyone loved the same car, this would be a very dull world.

I actively encourage people to always test drive every car they're considering, and buy the one that is right for them.

It sounds like you're just as happy with your FR-S as I am with my Z car.

There are plenty of newer cars that don't feel quicker than older cars of the somewhat comparable class. That's normal given the safety, strategic and other reasons. Also concept of feel is a subject to perception, gearing and driving style. Sorry for the off topic

I really like the new 86, and I plan on purchasing one very soon. That being said, I also understand how the automotive press works after reading these magazines for about 15 years now.

Whenever a new model is released, the hype surrounding that car is astounding. For example, when the new Camaro hit the markets, it was called a game changer, the best car for around 30,000 ever. Then the Mustang 5.0 was introduced, and suddenly the Camaro was a joke. It suddenly had a cartoonish interior, bad visability, and a weight problem.

Now the new 86 comes out and it is winning every comparison despite being slow, a bit pricey for what it is, a very awkward power delivery, and sub .9 g grip.

I guarantee this time next year, when the new g-whiz model from struggling automaker x comes out, the 86 will be made to look like a joke in order to sell magazines and get website hits from g-whiz fanboys. It is sad but true. Remember the Civic SI and VW GTI winning every single comparison when released? Now the SI is made to look like an example of what not to make, and if you drive one, you obviously don't know the kind of POS you've gotten into.

Again, I love the twins. They are exactly what I wanted from the auto industry, but I know what they are and what they are not.

This isn't the first time I have seen shit like this. I heard from civic Si drivers of the last gen model that the 370Z felt slow. I started when they wrote that considering their cars feel slower than regular civics before 6k rpms.

Wow, 158hp. That's gotta suck. The U.S. market cars are AWD, make 211hp, 258lb/ft and are quick! If they offered one with a manual I'd consider getting one and putting a STaSIS chip in it to bump it up to 261hp and 305lb/ft. The TT is an impressive car from an engineering standpoint; the chassis is mostly made of aircraft-grade aluminum with a formed steel trunk area to balance the weight of the drivetrain. It weighs right around 3100lbs IIRC.
It's a different market in europe, they are much more focused on fuel economy and have different government regulations. This is why the smaller cars and fuel-efficient vehicles like smart cars are so popular out there. They increase power and performance to cater to the american pigs, because they know how much we love our HP (mustang, camaro, charger, you get the idea)

In Australia, the cheapest TT, the 1.8 TFSI, which I'm assuming is the same spec as the one in the review, costs $69k. Twice the price of the 86, and about the same as the Z.

That's bullshit!!!

Powerful cars mainly come from Europe(AMG/M/S-RS,Lotus,Ferrari,Lamborghini,Porsche and more). Europeans have more powerful cars than our Big 3 in America so please don't make excuses for them. They have weak output engine vehicles just like we do in America but the difference between us and them is they pay a premium for less while we pay the premium for more.

Terrible comparison.

Why not throw in a 3/4 ton truck, too...

You have never been to Europe, have you. (not a question)

The hottest cars in the world are made in Europe, for Europeans. We're just lucky that we get some of them in the States.

I just got back from Germany. I picked up my C63 via MBZ's European Delivery program. My av is the car at the Mercedes Kundencenter Delivery area (Sindelfingen), sig is of the car below the ruins of Hohengeroldseck. Plenty of hot cars over there and everyone in the econo cars will let you know that they're a fan ("breaking neck", taking photos, and thumbs up).

Also, just because you see someone in an econo box doesn't mean they don't have a beast in their garage.

Anyhow, BRZ/FRS is the new kid on the block, so it's getting all the attention (from reviewers).

I love the twins as well and I wouldn't be checking out the forum from time to time if I didn't think so. I know exactly what the trade off would be (TQ would prob be #1) and it's a matter of personal taste. :happy0180:
