I strongly disagree. The greatest Porsche is the one in your own garage. Since I don't have a Porsche in my garage, I think they all suck!

Of course I would reserve a final decision after driving one, but honestly to pay more than 10-15k and the taxes again, is not worth it to me. That’s a down payment for a used Cayman S.

That said, if you like it, get it, it’s your money. But it does not mean it’s a smart decision. Over on Nasioc, there a dudes who have bought 3 different WRXs over the years while I still have my 04. Not all were new, but man all in they are easily over 60k and basically have a similar experience as I do, except I have had no payments for 12 years. But in the end it’s not my money.
Gen 1 cars (2013-2014) will be 9 years old when Gen 2 cars are out. Very possible will have more than 120,000 miles. I wouldn’t call that used up but no spring chicken either.

In the end if someone has the means to buy new cars every two years that’s their business. It puts more affordable late model units out there. And that is good.

That video was the first that my girlfriend has seen the new BRZ. She approves, which is important because it will be replacing our Mazda 3, which is the car she drives to work.

Maybe where you come from. My friends and I were saying "fugly" when we were in high school in 1970. I can assure you that "fat" is not where the F in "fugly" came from........think f'n-ugly.

Maybe we were just ahead of the times or it got cleaned up in the urban dictionaries of the 90s and 2000s.

I think fugly is a more southern term. It had to be late grade school me or my friends used the term

I don't think so.
it's true for almost all industries that rely on product review.

I was doing product marketing in this exact role in the tech industry, you sometimes seed reviews with someone that will give you negative feedback just so you can have even coverage. You don't become a top tier brand with just good product, you also need word-of-mount to make it happen.

Corporate PR and marketing play a long game, they don't think of bad reviews as bad, they think of it as them building a relationship with the media to improve your product positioning long term.

Larger, more prestigious brands will command a more exclusive list of journalists that won't badmouth them (as much), but its a very complex game of industry connections.

^This video just made me realise that the front reminds me of the Porsche Cayman (987).

Also this seems to be the same car that was posted about earlier.

Of course it will come in RHD and be sold in Japan and Australia. I still LOL that anyone believed the ‘motoring journalist’ clickbait sites who seized on ‘won’t be sold in Europe’ as evidence it was ‘exclusive to North America’ - so much arrogance.

The more video I see of it, the more I think the tail is an improvement but the nose is a disaster. C’mon GR 86, you’re our only hope.
