Since there are so many Subaru dealers and they're all independently owned, some may be different when it comes to their used car's postsale service. Generally buying a used car (esp. non-CPO) from the dealership is much like buying a car off the street from a private party but there's exceptions such as CARMAX which have their own service departments.
At my store we only service Subarus. We are a dealership group with multiple brands so used cars that need pre-sale inspections would be brought to the service department of the respective automaker, and if it's a brand we don't own we actually just take it to an independent mechanic lol. For postsale service we wouldn't do it if it is a brand we don't own. Example we don't own a Honda store so the used Honda owners have to take it to a Honda dealer or independent shop for their routine service. I'm curious now if anyone has successfully got their FR-S/86 serviced at a Subaru dealer during Service Department Business Hours.

Georgia, as a whole only has a dozen Subaru dealers and half of them are in the Atlanta metro area. I'm guessing some of those more remote ones probably are co-located with other brands and share shop space. Still, I'd have a hard time running a business where I turned down work!

Call your local Subarus dealers and check. Like I said, they are all different. I'd be surprised if they allow it.

Seriously? Im quoting aftermarket parts for all kinds of cars where I am. Hell, Im quoting and billing aftermarket parts for the make we service. That must only work if you have the market cornered. Meaning youre the only option for Subaru dealer work.

i've never heard of a dealer that refused to take money from anyone. warranty work is brand-specific, but maintenance items, never..

Last I checked, the Subaru dealerships near me charge like $120+ for an oil change and 5 quarts Subaru of oil from the dealership costs like $70. Toyota 0-20 is much cheaper and is better and costs like $70 for an change.
