I'm pretty sure now it will be a much more harmonious looking front end from what we can see of the mule.
They have. There are dozens of them scattered through the threads.

This one is the most "likely" based on the camo car.

Probably not far off looking at the test mule, but I like Mr Chin’s one better.

His is pretty and I like that he worked the fog lights into it but I am not sure what he based it on since beyond the basic shape of the grill it bears zero resemblance to the camo one.

Just his imagination, looks cool though. I have a feeling looking at the mule, the 86 front might look better than the BRZ. Rumour is early 2021 for their reveal.

"better" will of course be subjective. The front may be "better" but it will still have the gargoyles sticking out of the front fenders.

Lol. True, but they’re functional gargoyles remember.

Don't care. They could make them functional without going overboard with the styling.
One of the things that attracted ME to the first gen was the simplicity of the body lines and the flowing classic sports car styling.
What they offer up now is a conglomeration of different styles all slapped together in a mishmash of conflicting lines and exaggerated features.
I fully appreciate that they may be "better" aerodynamically but that does not mean I have to like the appearance.
To gain a 14% increase in HP and 15% of torque to have a car I would not turn and look back at every time I walk away from it just is not a great deal for me.

Its not as clean, and I chose (pegasus white) 86 for the same reason. As a current owner of an 86 you dont need to change anyway, if you want those things the new one gives you can just put in a new header and a tube and away you go - free from emission chokes the engine feels like it should.

The new car is growing on me, I'd like to see it in more colors, I don't like it in the blue, but the silver is nice, I think a gun metal might look good with all those technical lines.

Absolutely correct! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I'm sure there were plenty who bought this thinking it was a real looker:

It was when it came out, largely because the Camry it replaced was super bland and boring looking.

Over a 6 year period they sold over 500,000 of this monstrosity so there is no accounting for taste!

I have seen very few that took the fully revealed BRZ and used the specific camo wrapped 86 bumper though. That’s what I am referring to. Lots of people have done renders by painting over the mules, or using the gen 1 as the base, which leaves things looking off since the fenders and windows are different now. I am hoping for more where the 86 nose as it appears on the latest camo cars is simply added to the BRZ.

I also don’t know why so many new renders are ignoring the obvious shapes from the latest 86 mules. The shape of the nose grill and front vents are pretty clear even under the camo wrap, but Caradvice for example still put a different nose on their latest render. Odd. Maybe they haven’t seen all the pics of the camo wrapped cars yet?
