From the side the front of the car and the rear of the car look like they were designed by different people.
Do not like the running boards at all. I would have them destroyed in no time. After all my whining about fake vents I am not impressed by the size and shape of the real vents on the front. Be great for track and totally suck for the daily driving I do for much of the year. And they are as ugly as sin. Generic tail lights like every other Subaru (and most other cars) YAWN. Trunk lid lip is nice. They finally got rid of that damned dirt collecting flat shelf on the rear bumper. Two thumbs up there. The rest of it is … well …. meh same old same old. Now we wait for specs.

I’m in your camp. I prefer the personality of a NA engine over a turbo engine, especially when mated to a MT. And if the speculation is correct about a “short-stroke” 2.4-liter engine, it will hopefully still be playful at high-rpm, albeit with better mid-rpm torque for daily driving. And with that extra mid-low rpm torque, if they can get the highway gearing closer to 2,200 rpm at 60 mph with the MT, this car may be a grand slam home run. Let’s see what today brings.

Assuming accurate, they took a classic looking small sports car and made it look like, well just another car.
