https://www.ft86club.com/forums/show...31&postcount=6

If we follow what Toyobaru is telling us then the liners are thin cast iron with an irregular/rough back to them, so that the liners provide better adhesion to the aluminum when they are cast together.

With that said, I don't know if it is possible to create a larger bore with a thicker cast iron layer that when bonded with the aluminum is stronger, yet overall, is slightly thinner.

A 100cc overbore and a 100cc HKS-like stroker would put displacement at 2.2 like the F22C following the F20C, which seems reasonable.

Again, all I am saying is we don't know until we know.
If the F24 is real then we know exactly what the bore and stroke are. We also know it is a slightly larger engine. There is no mystery in that. Well other than if that is the real engine of course.
what we can safely assume is that they didn't make a brand new engine just for this car so no 2.2 overvores.

That would be excellent but am pretty sure such a light vehicle would preclude it from North American markets not unlike the Alpine A100 (unless maybe they raised it).

I for one cannot wait to see what's coming. I've made peace with the lower part motor and all that. I get it, it shows the car to be lighter bubbler and frankly cheaper while offering a driving experience that's been lost. In allot of ways it's a throwback.
But, I just don't see why they can't just give it that damn turbo, as if it absolutely need to be upgraded in every way making it weigh 3300+lbs. They could just make it with 200-240 stock and then let the world get what they want. There's a good amount of fwd cars that offer that already, so why not this car?

But then I leaned back in my chair and sorta thought about it. An I trying to build a super car killer? Not going to happen these days, porsches hit 60 well under 4 if not 3. But no I'm not.

I thought about this one dude who's building a 2g eclipse gst right now on the s2ki forum, and he was talking about how getting over 300hp was a bit of a struggle, technology. I think allot of us think back to the days of sr20det and 3sgte and think oh man if we just had a modern one we could go giant killing. Keto in mind the venerable supra was 320hp, and porsches were still air cooled.

I remember reading about how allot of those monster power cars all had built motors, I remember people I knew blowing motors.

Point is, if a turbo is what I really wanted, I can just get one of the carb legal kits and call it a day, hell get the edelbrock kit and I have my full warranty. If I want to make over 400hp, well allot of cars don't make that sort of power without some internal work.

Don't get me wrong, if they make a turbo I'll be first in line to get it lol, but if they don't, all I ask is that they don't waiver on that position.

Going to be a long 24hrs.

yep. Toybaru better not pull a mid-life update in a couple of years and suddenly pull a turbo version out of their ar$e.

Hey, I have an auto and I can guarantee you there has never been a soccer mom that got away from the light before I did, even if their hauler was faster than me on paper.
