For the photo etched parts, bending is required? I just assumed they go over the plastic part?

Ah, "bend if needed/instructed."
If this is the set you ordered it looks like just the one part (2nd row from top center - intake cover?) will need to be bent. Just some basic 90 degree ones by the looks of it.
Some photoetch requires you to completely remove the plastic kit part but it is usually easy.

Found some. Not sure why I don't have any of the engine bay.
Had to make a bunch of custom parts since it was a specific car that I was doing. The front splitter, side skirts, rear canards, rear window and spoiler gurney flaps and tail lights all had to be custom made. The plate is a picture of his actual one reduced and made to look made out of metal.
A lot of what look like flaws in the pictures do not show up in real life. Many of the weird looking brush stokes and such in the interior are deliberate exaggerations of textures so that it shows up though the windows.

Very good.. So, how did you manage to decouple the keyboard from the car?

I laugh whenever I read "don't ever eat or drink near a keyboard".
I eat, drink, sand, glue, paint, and pet the cat on my keyboard.

Yup, that should be it. I believe that piece is the differential cooler. Would you recommend leaving that part in some warm water for a few minutes to possibly make bending it easier?

It is scored where you have to bend it. Just make sure that you bend it the right way the first time. It will snap if you try to bend it more than once.

This hobby is dangerous. Since there isn't anything special about the R33 kit, I started looking at the 400R transkit for it. Quickly closed the tab after seeing it costs over 100 USD...and it's not like I have a Dremel to cut off the factory parts. lol. Then I started looking at some Paasche airbrushes.

Oh, and in case anyone is wondering, the Nismo wheels included in the R34 are different than the ones that came with the R32. The ones with the R34 are molded in black, and I'm pretty sure are wider than the white molded ones from the R32.

If I were to get an airbrush, which I probably won't since I really don't intend on getting more kits than the R34, R33, and the Hako, I would like a single action just to simplify things. The part I don't quite understand is siphon feed vs gravity feed. And can these airbrushes work with regular air compressors, like ones used for inflating tires, nailing, etc.

Plus, I think properly cleaning an airbrush might be cumbersome.
