Well, without a Dremel, I don't think I could get off the orange peel as much as I want to. Barely made a difference after wet sanding with 2500 grit (over sanded near one of the side skirts since I started seeing red on the polishing stages), and then followed up with the detailing products I had laying around (not a fan of Chemical Guys), CG V32, V34, V36, and V38. Did those by hand with a microfiber towel only and I didn't want to put too much pressure for fear of bending/cracking the plastic. oh well.

I'm surprised that you haven't ended up with the following:

starting with 2500grit is fine. it'll work, but will take a lot longer. you definitely don't want to be using a dremel for this. personal experience, you'll sand through the paint before even thinking about it.

The Dremel would be for the polishing compounds, not the wet sanding. haha. I've polished real cars, and didn't think of a model being different, but I forgot that I can't apply as much pressure, nor use a DA like on a real car.

Almost happened when I tried cementing the rear wing on. The wax prevented it from bonding, and just ate away at the paint. You can kind of see it in this picture. Wing also slid off and dragged some cement onto the trunk above where the Nissan sticker would go. Not sure if I can polish that off

Sounds like it's a "write-off", part out...

LOL, donor car. I can buy the "cheaper" non Nismo version and start over with that body. But if I do that, I'm going to want to buy the R34 "curbside" kit and retrofit the RB26 from the cheaper R32 into the R34. No, no, no, I don't want to fall into the rabbit hole. hahaha

Anything can be polished off with enough abrasives. What you really mean is whether you can polish it off without damaging everything else.

Did you have to glue the wheels in place so they are no longer able to "roll?"
