Hi all,
I had to change the rear wheel bearings and they were so seized that I had to remove the hubs and use a hydraulic shop press. Now, here comes my problem. I am simply not able to reinstall the clips fixing the parking cable to the splash guard: The little U-shaped clip should slide into a slot in a tube on the backing plate seating in a groove on the cable. The problem is that irrespectively how I tried to insert the clips (using pliers, trying inserting by hand, using a small hammer, etc.) the end pieces of the clips bite into the wall of the tube and gets stucked: I have destroyed 6 clips with no luck and I could insert the clips only by removing the small end pieces which is not that secure. ![]() Anyone has experience how to install these clips from hell properly?
