When I had it, the STI flexible strut tower was great. Of course the interior tidbits like the different shift knobs (there are 3 types you can find), push button start, the Lip kit is great if you are not lowered too much. I scrap mine because I have Eibach springs. I think the only things that really negatively effect daily (for me) were the pads. Otherwise, all of the other STI parts have been amazing. I know it's not STI, but the TRD axelback I put on honestly outdoes the HKS I had. I really like it.

On the STI website they do warn of some squeaking. But I feel part of the excessive noise may have been user error. Though I did grease the hell out of them.

Still, I'm keeping them as they were amazing for back roads!

Came back from a bike ride yesterday to find my car like this.

Anybody have experience with getting a loss of value claim done after repairs?

That SUCKS. Can't help you on the claim question but I hope everything works out for you... looks almost entirely cosmetic so hopefully just a new bumper required. If that's the case maybe just look at paying out of pocket for the replacement to avoid it being recorded as a claim/collision?

In most states that have that in the insurance code it is done automatically as part of the claim, with a right to appeal. There is also usually an upper mileage limit (in Georgia it's 100,000 miles).

I had this happen when my car was "front ended" when someone pulled out in front of me. The damage was relatively minor (it's in my owner's journal) but cost about $4,000 to fix. Since the car had 98,000 miles or so on it, I got a diminished value check of $3.54. I did have to complete a form but the insurance company prompted me to do it.

If you search for your state and "diminished value" you'll see way more than you could possibly want on the subject as every injury attorney in your state will have it on their webpage.

Just starting the process with the other guys insurance. He wasn't paying attention pulling out and turned into my car. Mostly just damage to the bumper cover, liners, headlight, foglight harness and sidemarker.

Rekt, totaled I know. Just over 6 months on the car.
