Yep, can't see in the winter time because of the fog and can't see in the summertime cause of the smoke. -

Lol I call it quits at 1.5 stories off the ground. My back gutter is 3 extra tall stories off the ground. Not getting anywhere close to it...

Never have understood the purpose of these, and I have some experience with them as my Father owned a roofing company I worked for ages ago.

It doesn't matter which ones you get they will eventually clog or the leaves will back up on top of them, or if you live in a high snow zone, you'll get snow piled up and water under your eaves. The best ones also stupid expensive.

My house is two stories in the back, three in the front (basement opens under the front porch). For less than $400 a year I have a company that comes out 4 times a year, cleans and maintains my gutters for me. I could really get away with it twice a year (half the price) but I'm a little particular about it.

It is also a possibility, but $400 a year is pretty expensive too. My problem seems to be a few sticks getting stuck in the leaves and clogging the downspout, rather than volume of leaves. I haven't been here for the fall season yet, so IDK how bad it actually gets. All I know is my back gutter is clogged, and a lot of the roof is a PITA to get to...

The estimate for quality gutter covers I got for my house funded the cleaning for 10 years. I do have a lot of leaves though, and as I said I could get by with 2 cleanings a year which would have been 20 years for the cost of the covers.

I also have a lot of gutter because of the roof design and porches, etc.

I had to clean my gutters every week or more during leaf season, and before each storm. They were bent, and didn't work, even when clean. I have a rotten door frame for a side door into the garage because of the old gutters.

The leaf guard gutters seem to work fine. Leaves do pile up a little bit on the 90° bends. I keep them clean with a spider web type brush on a pole. The downspouts are twice as big as normal, and have a screen you can clean. Their sales people start with a ridiculous number. You need to laugh and send them away. They will call back. I paid a quarter of their first estimate, and had them add about 30 feet more around my rear kitchen windows and additional downspout. So far I am happy with the purchase.

My reservation about those is that the gutters on the back of my house overhang the deck. So, if stuff gets past the gutters it is always falling on the deck, making a big mess.

I can reach those with a step ladder. The front and side gutters are much higher, so that is a job for my son-in-law -

The ants have returned .

So over the past couple days, I noticed one or two randomly on the bathroom counter even though I've still had two traps on the floor.

So last night I moved one of the ones from the floor to the counter, and this morning there are like 10 inside the trap container and multiple moving between it and the same hole I had noticed them crawling into/out of last weekend.

Shouldn't all of that be son-in-law work

That's good. They'll die off.
