I suggest to the other 2, why don't we put forward reduced working week.. this way we can save one job. The suggestion initially met with a damp, lukewarm response. Only until the work picks up..

Anyway, find out this week if the company will entertain part-time hours or one of us is out... Again "glass half full", if it's me then great as it gives me an opportunity to do something else... Go fruit picking or something..

It would depend on whether the 1 is a furlough (going to be called back) or a reduction in staff. Salary isn't the only thing to consider. Keeping 3 part time employees but retaining their benefit and government payments (Social Security, Medicare, Unemployment, etc) isn't really a 1/3rd reduction in cost.

I think that the company is restructuring, using the current situation as an excuse to drop employee numbers. In the bigger scheme of things, the drop they are wanting is circa 6.5%... it just doesn't make sense but as soon as you factor in change of structure then things fall into place.

A letter from HR dropped into my Inbox... My pool no longer at risk therefore we carry-on as normal... Workload fluctuations coming into play.

Obviously I didn't know how my pool faired, so what's normal for me, I ask the others if they've heard.. yep they got the "good" news too but didn't think of instigating the reach out!! "Team" players for sure!!

We really take consumer electronics for granted these days, forgetting that a shit ton of work and testing went into the standards and interface hardware that lets most products be mostly idiot-proof.

Yeah I was wondering more in terms of technical factors like this. As a software engineer a lot of what I go through with debugging shit is something like the following:

* what you expect to happen
* what is happening
* etc.

So it's weird that different combinations of factors have different outcomes.

Yeah, totally. I get that part about the factory connector. Was mostly just wondering why different combinations of connections work and others don't, seemingly at random (@Spuds point makes good sense of that, though).

I think my connector is not working in my car. My P3 stopped working, and I cannot connect with my OBDII dongle. So bummed.

Maybe try the extender trick? But if not I’m guessing you’ll need to have someone rewire/replace it.

The other guys probably know way better than me though.

Resistance is weird man. I had full LED replacements in all exterior lighting. I ran it both with and without a changed relay. No issues. I install Tom's tail lights and when I hit my blinker both signals would go off and my radio would brighten/go dark in sync. I had to take the LED out of my front turn signals to get it to stop

My extended range solution worked out perfect. For the most part, didn’t even notice it was there.
