Took this Thursday off to go on a motorcycle ride with my dad. He isn't getting any younger. We need to ride about 100 miles to get to this road. It is a pass that goes through some old lava flows. Should be a good time as it is damn twisty.

Well, that is beautiful country for sure.

What kind of bikes will you'll be riding?

How old is your dad?

100 miles to get to the start point - Hell, I'd need a nap by then.

Have fun!

Our motorbikes. I am worried about making it on fuel. I only have a 160 mile range. I am thinking of strapping a 1 gal jug to the back just in case.

He's almost 62, so it won't be too hard of a day on him but he will be a bit saddle sore. It will be a 300+ mile day. I don't think he has ridden that far at once in 40 years.

That may not be a bad idea, about the gas container.

I hope your dads wrist doesn't give out shifting -

He's got push button shift lol. It is an old man bike, good for long distance. I think his throttle hand will get tired. He's got a comfy old man bike.

WOW! Nice looking bike -

The reason I commented on his wrist getting sore from shifting goes back to a ride I took on Oahu back in the day. I hadn't ridden a bike in several years and my "shifting wrist" was out of shape. I rented a Honda 350 (?) and took off early one morning to circle the island (hey, how hard could that be, it's just an island).

Well, I ran out of paved road up on the NW corner of the island and decided to head back to Honolulu through the center of the island. By the time I got back, I was clutching with my right hand because the left hand had given out on me.

I can't quite figure out the hairy armpit ladies. They let it grow, but then proceed to shave everything else. Why?

You're not alone. I don't get it either. Around here they are just too lazy so they hide it with sweatshirts and leggings.

It seems to be a 'trend' here in Austin. Befitting of the liberal/hippie-esque the town is supposed to be. But it still makes no sense. Like, that's me shaving one side of my face, but not the other.

Yeah, it becomes a statement thing. I hate it because it becomes one of those things you can't unsee once you notice it.
