I highly doubt that those forged BBS will make it into the production model though.

The light bar that extends across doesn't ever appear to be on, which I figured it would still somewhat illuminate through the wrap if it was on. Of course, they could have disabled it.
It could be like the Kia Singer, where it doesn't light up, but just extends across, or maybe like the Kia Forte, but they disconnected the lights:

I’m never a fan of light bars across the trunk, if they light up or not. Always reminds me of 90’s era Dodge products. Even Porsche is doing it now. Whyyyyyy?!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

To my admittedly old-school old-guy eyes, I think the new car looks good. But not as good as the current car. I love the front fender bulges of the current car, and the generally more flowing, curvaceous styling. It reminds me of the Opel GTs I used to own back in the 80's. The view from the driver's seat is also similar to the Opel GT, seeing the tops of the front fender bulges (also similar to the <gulp> Porsche Cayman).
To me the latest renderings and camouflaged pics of the new GR86 look like a more 'grown up' car, keeping with the pattern many manufacturers seem to follow for revising models - a little more elegant and refined, but also a little less distinctive. If the GR86 actually comes with a turbo motor (which is less likely than finding an honest politician in Washington these days) I'd go for it. But if it's only a modest bump in torque and inconsequential hp increase, I think I'll stick with the prettier to my eyes current car (which is the easiest option, since it's already in my garage). |

I hate FI. Can't they get 240 hp out of a 2-liter NA engine? Okay, 225 hp? I could live without the "humpy" fenders, but what I'd like is a better view from the cockpit. Maybe that's just me. |

Wow, you really wouldn’t want FI?! The fenders on the renders you don’t like? Lol I think the visibility is awesome, once you get used to the small blind spot. For a car that looks as cool as it does, visibility is awesome. Sit in a new Camaro to experience horrible visibility. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Very good point, about Porsche using it on previous cars. I guess I just like when cars don’t have them. The 1st gen Eclipse had a mega rear light bar. It’s a visual oddity to me, especially if they don’t light up. I believe the new Porsche ones do light up? And many times trends become cyclical, for good or bad. No better example than the return of Mom Jeans. Why of all fashion trends would that come back?! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

1) The current iteration looks cool, especially from about 80% of the various different angles. 2) FI to me always means more complications and more heat. The McLaren F1, the Honda S2000 and the t.50 are my benchmarks.* 3) With the GT86, I feel like I have the visibility of a tank driver peering through a slot. *EDIT: Actually, there are lots of NA cars that work for me. What I'm looking for is 250 hp, 250 ft lb torque, 2500 lbs. Mid-'80s Porsche 911s had it, the D-Type had 250 hp, 250 ft lb torque, etc. |

What you want doesn't exist if you want a new car under $30k. You will need a gen 2 86 with a FA24 D4S engine with 12.5:1 or greater compression, headers, exhaust, e85, intake, power blocks, whatever, and a tune. You will need to strip out about 300-400lbs of weight. Your other option is to buy a ND Miata and fit an Edelbrock supercharger with E85. It will feel NA.
