Very Poor Fuel Economy After Recall

Good question, also OP, was your prior MPG readings "what the car was telling you", or were they calculated?

WHAT! You took the seats out to clean the interior? Did you have milk spilt under the seats or detected the remains of a dead rat under the seat?

So far, this is all based upon what the car's telling me, before and after. But there is certainly a difference in the way the car accelerates, and how much smoother it is shifting -- reminds me of when I first got it -- it's a lot more fun to drive again. And the fuel economy is so much better, it's pretty easy to tell that it's hugely improved. Plus, the car doesn't choke and die if I make a sudden stop, like it's been doing since the recall work.

And with all the drive-thru meals I've been eating these days, I thought it would be good to vacuum thoroughly under the seat and also get some of the coins that have fallen and lodged under the seat rails.

Current form of the virus isn't as deadly *if you get it* now as it was earlier. It is however still very transmissible and 1000 people a day are dying of it in the U.S. It is quite deadly and we should be taking it a lot more seriously...

That said I don't think dropping a car off to get it worked on is particularly dangerous. I've done it a couple of times and I left my mask on and had windows down for a while afterwards. Wash hands often, don't touch face. I believe it is transmitted primarily through the air and the highest risk is being close to other breathing or worse speaking humans for some time. Particularly if they aren't masked up.

That's good to hear. Keeping track of your fuel via trip counter is a good way to monitor things as they go.
I've always done this out of habit with every tank. You can compare mileage on the trip counter with amount filled when you pump.

My last tank was around 550km on 43 liters. The tank before with 1 hour of track time and a Canyon drive home was around 370km on 40 liters.. lol
