Just bugs me that I often read here stories of the mysterious redundant tables which seem to have no effect. At least I haven't given up on the idea of editing the factory ROM. I can still become familiar with the differences between stock and Shiv's ROMs. Even before all of that, I need a beater ECU and to know how to swap them.

I actually doubt there is any one person who knows every effect a parameter in the ROM has considering how interconnected just the software is, and let's not forget about the mechanical/aero/chemical effects of the system ... though it is Japan so...

I guess they have the resources to look it up though. You play it however safe you feel comfortable with.

It's impossible to do any analysis unless you have more functions than variables. This feeds right into my discomfort with the mystery tables. ...if you get my drift.

so today leaving work, there's an intersection with 5 lanes in each direction, 1 right-turn, 2 through, and 2 left-turn.

i pull up to the red light, and a guy on an obviously not street legal dirt bike pulls up in the right turn lane, with obvious intentions to go straight. seems halfway competent wearing a riding jacket, jeans, and a backpack, but apparently too cool for a helmet.

light turns green, and we all start moving. halfway through the intersection, i guess dirtbike guy felt the need to show the world that 1 wheel is even better than 2. he was fine across traffic, but on the other side, got it a little too high and his backpack broke his fall and he rolled like a pillow down the interstate to a stop, with the bike finding the curb and a parking spot in the ditch.

i stopped for a second, and then when he got up, went on my way, while laughing. because that would be me if i had a dirt bike.

I am up this early every day since March.
Up by 4:30, leave for work by 5, get there about 5:30, leave by 4:00 get home by 4:30.

I've been up since 0330 but I won't be home for 3 days... not even to a hotel even until after dark.
