HKS Legamax vs Invidia Q300
I am looking for your opinion about the HKS Legamax vs Invidia Q300 exhausts.
I used to have a Milltek resonated catback but I wasn't satisfied with the tone, it was too bassy for my taste. Basically, I am looking for a ''quiet'' aftermarket exhaust with a more high pitch tone rather than the deep bassy tone of the Milltek. Something sporty enough like the Porsche Boxster-Cayman tone, not too bassy and not too loud without drone on motorway speeds etc. From the research I've done on youtube, I think that I should choose between the Invidia Q300 and the HKS Legamax. I live in Greece and there are only 20 cars sold. So it is practically impossible to listen live to any other exhaust other than stock or TRD. As you realize I need your help and your suggestions for the exhausts above or for any other exhaust brand that I should check. Also, is it possible to achieve that sportier tone just by changing the frontpipe with a resonated aftermarket and leaving everything else stock? |

I had the Invida Q300 but after 2 years, the packaging broke up and it eventually became quite loud and sounded like ass. So, I bought the HKS Legamax Sport and it sounds downright amazing. I'm also 90% certain it's quieter than the Q300, but also more expensive. Totally worth the price though IMO.

Ah as someone who just installed a Q300 that's kind of disappointing to hear. I've got a OpenFlash Header, Invidia resonated front pipe and then the Q300. The Q300 is pretty bass-y but only at the really low RPMs or on a cold start. Overall it's only loud when you get on it or have the windows down but fairly quiet otherwise in normal driving. I'll see if I can get a video. |

I have a hks legamax aas i like quiet, i have openflash header (catless ) andnd the rest if my exhaust is stock ie stock front pipe and mid pipe. Its nice and quiet but sounds good.
I tried a high fliw cat front pipe but it got a bit raspy and loud for me , but likely acceptable for most. I think the hks legamax and q300 sound similar, but hks is better quality, but it costs more |

I just got the HKS Legamax Sports put on because my last exhaust was too loud. The HKS is definitely real quiet, and I actually kind of miss the rumble.
I used to be able to hear parking garage valets start my car and drive it up from across the parking lot or even from the floor below. Now its pretty much quiet and sounds like any other car when cruising below 3k RPM. Theres a bit of a growl when I give it a blip to 2k RPM to start moving from a standstill. Then its pretty quiet until I go WOT past 3k RPM. Will probably be getting headers to bring back some of the aggressive sound. |

I have nameless headers, and a catted/ resonated front pipe paired with my hks legamax sport and it's still really subtle till you rev it passed 3k rpm. But it sounds great after that!

I installed my Legamax Sport a few weeks ago and it's quiet. There's a nice growl to it at low rpms. I've also been told that it's really quiet at autoslalom events.
Here's a link of Legamax Sport with everything else stock. Mic is an atr3350 clipped on the tow hook access panel. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

Can anyone directly compare the Milltek Secondary Catback Resonated to the Legamax Sport? I got my GT86 supercharged a few days ago, and find the Milltek very boomy, especially below 3000 RPM. Its trying to split my head open. Any ideas on what I can do to fix it?

Stock front pipe does a lot for noise control. But if everything else is stock adding a bigger resonator or helmholtz resonator can change certain frequencies and sometimes help. Some catbacks are just drony at certain RPM. |
