Chip Foose is a good example of this. His drawings are great, but when you are using them as reference to a car you are "overhauling" why not make the proportions the same as the one you are actually working on?

It's like if you hired an architect to design a house, and their elevation drawings didn't match the actual design because they thought it looked better when they showed it to you.

For the same reason everybody takes pictures of cars from about 6" off the ground?

I like it too. As others have said, clean, simple, not overwrought (like the Supra). Goes back (a bit...) to the original design philosophy of the 240Z.

If it's available with a manual transmission, I'd seriously consider it. If it ever actually comes out.

the scanned article mentions both a 300 and 400hp version of the VR30DDTT. i think people are forgetting that the Z is a $30k-$40k car. i think it looks fine for that price range.
