Warning, the following is very random.
Just read about aphids (tiny insects). Very strange. They reproduce both sexually and asexually, being live-born already pregnant in many cases. Also, ants farm them for honeydew. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aphid |

9/11 references, to media intake, to cultural divide, increased war/violence, etc. Some can even be linked to events today (video was created in 2013) with covid, given the implied timeline in the video as well as mask references, and even the destruction of Notre Dame. It's an interesting video that makes you think if you take the time to digest it all. Very well done, I think.

It was a hot August day, when I got a call from a very excited technical representative in Yuma, Arizona. He claimed that he had proof that one of our registered insecticides was also an aphicide (a compound that kills aphids). I tried to convince him that the results of his field trial was an "artifact" and that none of my field research results indicated that activity. He was persistent, so it was my duty as a research representative to investigate. So, the next week I fired up my company car and headed to Yuma, AZ, one of the LAST places a person wants to be in August. He set up a field trial and we went out to make the application. It was about 107 degrees F in the shade, if you could find any, when we started. He put the proper amount of the insecticide in the spray tank and proceeded to fill it with HOT water. Yes, very HOT water from a 1,000 ft deep well. Then he added a few ounces of Joy soap (to act as a surfactant) and we pulled the rig out to the field. We took out our hand lenses and took several random aphid counts to establish a base line. I noticed that the grape vines were withered and almost void of moisture (which aphids like to suck out of the leaves). So, after we sprayed a few rows, we waited a few minutes for the results. Sure enough, most of the aphids were dead. Then I told him to spray a few more rows with the same hot water and soap, but leave out the insecticide. You guessed it, most of those aphids died also - ![]() The conclusion was that on a 107 degree day, spraying 120 degree, soapy water, on dehydrated aphids on dried out grape vines ....... KILLED APHIDS! THE END of that agricultural research story -
