Here is the scheduled live session for tomorrow. The chief editor of Subaru Magazine will join as guest. They might give some hints of the status of next generation ...

When you say tomorrow, do you mean this afternoon (international date line and all...)

Not specifically GR86 news but doesn’t bode well. Toyota seems to have delayed (at best) or cancelled (at worst) the LC-F with the new V8TT. As a niche product the Covid interruption pushes it back. The GR86 is also a niche product so you’d have to think it may also have been pushed back or cancelled.

Did anyone who speaks Japanese end up watching it? I’m guessing not, but you never know. A Japanese car magazine will probably publish it and it’ll be republished by the click baits soon enough.

I heard them say something about a 400 hp Twin Turbo 2nd gen that should start around $22,000. Curb weight around 1200kg.

My background in Japanese is having watched Dragonball Z as a kid.

Listened to the section where "BRZ/Hachi Roku" was being mentioned a bunch. Used the translate feature (which is less than ideal by a long shot lol).

But I didn't see anything that stood out during the entire conversation, except perhaps the mentioned date of "August 20th" when talking about the BRZ/86. The only thing that would lead me to believe is that there MAY BE more info to come on the vehicle (or lack there of) at or around that date.

"2.4" was also mentioned a few times. But without knowing for sure what was being said, it's hard to know... I can only speculate that they were discussing about the use of the 2.4L in the new gen.
