49,600 for my 2013 BRZ. Work from home last few years. Close-by office previously. Several 1500-2000 mile road trips including one through Tail of the Dragon.
Replaced TOB and clutch and flywheel last year when TOB disintegrated and wrecked the other components. Replaced battery and tires. That’s it. |

2016 FR-S 105K just got my fifth set of tires for her too. Love this car. Only way I would trade her in is if the 2nd Generation is just as good.

The only thing that would make buy a 2nd gen 86 sight unseen would be if Toyota supplied the engine. After having the $2k cam issue (on a babied '13 with 45k miles I still love but don't trust) and the things I've read about Subaru I don't trust Toyota's partnerships ex. Suzuki engines in last gen Celica are what killed off the Celica -but it made way for the 2 door 4 cyl Camry aka Scion tC. Aside from being an underpowered redressed BMW, in addition to also being overpriced and aesthetically questionable, unless it proves itself in the long run the Supra is definitely a pass. P.S. I understand the high cost of R&D to build a new car that will sell in small quantities isn't economically feasible even for Toyota, aren't there more worthy potential partners that have a reliability track record closer to Toyota's? I suppose the closest would be Honda (great engines/bad transmissions)? P.P.S it's shame we live in a world that cars are disappearing and replaced by SUVs, you can't find a sporty hatchback with 2 doors except the Corvette but even that is no longer a hatchback with the mid engine. The new Z looks interesting but it's a Nissan (craptastic reliability). Last edited by dnieves; 06-23-2020 at 01:30 PM. |

Do you mean yamaha? Yamaha makes great stuff and the 2zz is generally seen in a positive light. In what way is the supra underpowered and overpriced? I don't think you can find a car that offers similar performance and amenities at a similar price.

I’m nearing 99,000 miles, but I live 3 miles from my job so I’ll check back in like 6 months or so.

2013 Scion FRS MT 194000KM (120000 Miles) Original motor
Mostly regular maintenance. Not brought in (no plans to) for the recall. Daily driven pre quarantine. Canadian winter warrior. Cared for but not exactly babied. It lives free range if you will. No major issues. Plugs, Breaks (once @ 140K), Clutch & Flywheel (once @ 150K), Alternator repaired(once @ 125K), Rear wheel bearings (@ 140K with the breaks), fluids of course but that goes without saying I hope. |

2014 FR-S sitting at 110K. I bought it with 4k miles in 2016 and drove it a lot for work/daily. Photo was taken at 100K. Clutch and plugs were done at 100K no other issues with the car besides normal maintenance. Traded for a Hakone 86 over the weekend and the dealer gave me $9k for trade which I thought was pretty fair after a couple hours of negotiating. I bought a new one because I was so impressed with the car and the reliability is a huge bonus.

How many of you have done the spark plugs at around 100k? I’m at 75k and not sure if the previous owner did it. It’s a certified pre owned car that I bought with 63k miles and dealership looked through the maintenance to see if the plugs were done but There’s no record of spark plugs being changed.

Mine were done at just a bit over 136K at the same time as the valve spring replacement. I did look at them, and they really could have gone longer.
That said, I would really recommend going that long given the plug maintenance recommended interval is 60K.

That’s awesome and congrats on getting the Hakone edition! That green paint and bronze wheels look so good on the 86. They also knocked it out of the park with the interior! Do you miss your FRS at all? I haven’t driven a 2019 or 2020 but I’ve seen a lot of reviews that say it feels like a more refined car, but still with all the fun. ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
