it's for a stationary air conditioner. there's no traffic across the surface. i dragged a broom across it. it looks pretty. at least it did until the canopy dripped.

according to my retired neighbor expert, it's the proper way to finish the surface, besides getting a vinyl sealant, which isn't really worth it to me. it's a 4" thick pad(on the heavy side of 4-4.5") on 5-10" of triple-compacted crushed rock. if it moves, i've got much bigger issues. like militant ants.





yes, i keep the CO with new batteries, even hold the test button every once in a while to make sure it still hurts my ears. i'm planning on loading up on soapy water, and will be checking, rechecking, rerechecking and rererechecking everything.

did my dryer a while back. still checking for leaks just in case!



i've got this stuff to seal it. it's like wd-40 for thread seals. works everywhere, and if it leaks, disassemble, add more.

the shutoff and all the fittings appear to all be in place. there's a union between the shutoff and the water heater, so i shouldn't even need to do anything upstream of the shutoff.

i read the manual! 55' max vent distance, currently 44' with bend extension calc, 1/8" rise over 10'.

crooked pipes are easy. it's making them straight that gets difficult!

Don't forget to wet it down daily. I wasn't joking before. It is the secret to good hard non cracked concrete. Everybody wants to dry it out quick but that is a huge mistake.

Canopy over the setting concrete, good idea! Not checking the canopy bad idea!!

Brushed concrete great idea but not for equipment bases as it can become a moss trap... But I'm sure your neighbour will have ideas of getting round shit collecting or growing in the little valleys..

As for mowing the lawn, are you sure it wasn't @Tcoat doing his neighbourly thing.. mostly likely wanting a Hokane respray in 10years time?

Then I need to find out if a 4.88 FD is allowed in A-mod, which is where I'd be most competitive.
