Yeah... bottle of rum I ordered in early April finally showed up yesterday. I was far enough gone that it made complete sense to post that at the time.

The Perrin stickers went pretty quick, but I do have a leftover SPL sticker if you want. No one else seemed to.

It's Revon - .devon suffix actually. The data is personally important to the victim but is not time sensitive. What do you think the chances are of a decryption tool being developed in the next year or so? If that's in the realm of possibility, he can wait it out.
I wouldn't count on it working even if one was released, but probably little harm in saving the files to a flash drive and checking back from time to time. So long as only the encrypted files are copied, they're harmless. Make sure whatever flash drive is used has nothing else on it, no autorun, and isn't bootable. Just in case the ransomware is still running and activates when media is inserted.

Most decrypt utilities will let you run them against a specific folder as opposed to an entire system. Unfortunately most also just try to brute force it, which can take days to weeks of the PC never being turned off.

All my stickers are on my tool box. The way I see it, they are not paying me to advertise so they don't go on the car.

Haha thanks, but I'm good. If I'm really want one, I can make one myself. I was trolling around.

See?!? No one wants an SPL sticker on their car.

(Also figured, and just playing along, no worries)

So upstairs made some of the managers to make an Task Force to plan for few things like plan for reopen and so forth. All the plan was rejected and upstairs decided the plans. If that was the case, why in the fuck to make the fucking task force to begin with. I get some of the plan was fucking stupid, but some are legit plan. If they're just follow County plan instead of City plan, SAY IT FROM THE GET GO! Instead of wasting staff's time.

Damn that was one angry rant

I deal with this at work too and have been questioning my return

Most recently I have worked to come up with a fix for one of our parts we sell. Worked with the manufacturer to determine a solution. GM last year did not believe it will fix the problem and thinks it will be worse. So I got in 400 sample parts to send out of customers to test and prove that it was the correct solution back in November. Manufacturer sent them no charge. Just the other day he went on an angry rant about why this haven't been resolved yet and testing is pointless.

I hear you but I don't see that as political in the context of this forum. I'm always skeptical about calls for input. Most of the time it's just lip service so the troops feel included.

I get the lip service part. If that's the case, get the feedback from the staff and call it good. They don't need to make managers and some supervisors requiring to make a task force to meet twice a week and report back once a week (first thing Monday) to make a plan. Whole month worth of meeting just thrown out of the window. Upstairs could of just say "Hey! If you can take an idea of County Plan and work it around to make it work for the City?" It would of save shit tons of time.

I’m ranting too much. Good news is, I’ll be installing this today!

I give my input even when they don't ask for it. Usually bracketed by blasphemies

In a field that relies heavily on input and buy in I have determined over the past 30 years that the following breakdown is pretty standard.

5% Good, novel, practical, applicable and feasible ideas that can be used.
10% Good, novel, applicable ideas that are simply not practical or feasible for valid reasons.
10% Good ideas that are not new at all and are usually something in place already and just presented in a slightly different manner.
25% Vague, generalized, non specific ideas that have not got even enough substance to work with.
50% Totally unrelated, self serving, ridiculous, hidden agenda ideas that are only presented so the suggester can gain something personally.

I know this appears to be cynical but three of my employers all had suggestion programs and these are statistically very accurate across them all. The results from teams reduces the last one to about 25% and spreads the rest evenly through the other 4.
Still worth asking just for that top 5% though!
