They did write it 4 months ago. All they did with the one yesterday is add "breaking news" to what they wrote in January and passed it off as a new story.

There were never any "affordable" sports cars. There were cheap econoboxs that pretended to be sports cars but the real things were always more costly.

If it does get released like that, 36-40k?

I've not a single idea where people get these fantasies from. It's already a 30ish thousand dollar car. When you increase the power by 25% and add 100 torques, there's a lot of additional engineering work you need to do. This car is already pales in comparison to the 370z, EB Mustang and turbo Camaro when it comes to power. You want a good chassis AND engine? Be prepared to open that wallet.

I wrote long ass ver in GR86 sub section, but reality of that won't happened. There are few factors.
- Cost - Base BRZ cost more than base WRX (BRZ:$28k vs WRX:$27k). Only thing that keeping them separate is NA/FI & Drivetrain. Hell, making it into 260hp, only thing that make BRZ and WRX is drivetrain and a lot of buyer don't are too much about that (some do), but biggest thing is they're literally killing WRX AND Supra 2.0 sale. Supra 2.0 pretty much make same amount (255hp/295tq). They wanna do that? Don't think so.
- Weight - Thing I don't get is, why aren't fan bois not getting this part. FA24 might give a bit more bump... but expect well over weight bump as well. Not only due to the engine, but also required safety is different 10yrs ago. Even they keeping current engine, we're expecting minimum of 100lbs weight gain. From there add more rigidity, expected curb weight is 3,100~3,300lbs. It's a fucking fatass!
- Comparison - I've already compared WRX & Supra, so not gonna go into that, but look at other you've mentioned plus others. They have better bang for buck specs on the paper.

There are other shit happening behind the scene... but lets not go there.
