Toyota hasn't put effort into a hatchback in the US for a long time, we're so starved for them this one feels more special than it really is. It's really an attempt to compete with the Golf and Focus and I could understand someone simply saying " meh it doesn't suck"

In any case, looks like y'all got gyped on the Corolla, only cvt hybrids available instead of the 7.2k redline 6MT we've got.

Idk why you mention the CTR, that car is almost double the cost of the entry level hatches we're talking about. Civic would be my choice for sportiest $20k economy car but I haven't really been in a golf yet.

I don't know if any of you have seen the TOM'S Corolla Hatch, but the lip kip, wheels, and quad exhaust look amazing. Just pop in the 3cyl turbo and a better suspension and I'm sold.

It's my brother's so I'm hoping I get a go in it at 10/10ths this year. I'm even thinking about just slapping my 245/40/17 re71rs on it when he's not looking and taking it to an autox.

Edit: I'll take a good 220 hp fwd w/ good LSD over a body kit and AWD every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Nope. I've been thinking about trying a hatch though, I might need a second car since everyone whine's I only have 1 seat in my BRZ.

It better have a diff or it will be doa in my eyes. It will be nice to have a go fast hatch but the 1.6 will not offer much more room for added performance. It will be already pretty maxed is my guess.

that's never true. Just go look at what the lunatics did to the 1.4, both in the sonic and the 124. They will always find a way to make things better and more powerful.

1/ Cars fitted with the Circuit Pack will have Torsen diffs front and rear.
2/ Do you have a source for that?
3/ Yes, it is a guess.

With the lower displacement I am guessing it will be harder to extract extra performance. Is there much known about the little high strung 1.6 engine.

I'm guessing the engineers who designed it would have a bit of an idea but they're not telling. Given the car hasn't been released I'm suggesting no one on the internet knows anything.
