Yeah, over if the smoke tests I did was partially looking for the MAF to leak. It's snug as a bug. The veins in the MAF don't look lines up perfectly, could that few degrees maybe cause issues? Grabbing at straws here Last edited by snowtaipan; 05-02-2020 at 11:13 PM. Reason: Typo |

If it were me...I'd put it back to stock and test the shit out of it and verify all sensors and readings are where they should be and there are no issues that snuck in.
If you rule out hardware and installer-err, the only thing left if software. |

Do not pull direct injectors out unless you have 4 spare orings and the needed tool to install them
also blown DI orings make a distinctive sound (when you suddenly blip it makes a sound in your engine bay like if you are trying to unblock a sink with a plunger Make sure MAF is clean I do not see anything wrong with the High pressure fuel pump if you had problems with the high pressure fuel pump, it wouldnt even crank, car uses PI during crank but for a briefly moment, it blasts shortly with the DI to keep it running before switching again to PI i still think is a bad tune, i m helping snowtaipan with this let s see what the next logs will show |

Blown DI seals make an unholy racket. They are quite obvious.

But it only effects the direct injectors because the ports aren’t on/dominant?

that I don t know, it could be.
there are conditions that must be met to trigger those CEL and i dont know them CEL/DTC are infamous, specially if they trigger indirectly like in this case |

Just figured there could be grades of failure from poor sealing to missing seals.

His issue sounds like a soft code. I don’t know if the problem returns when he just idles it for a while or only if he gets on power or rarer, but if it doesn’t return immediately when the car starts then he should be able to capture the moment the CEL comes on when doing a log then you could assess what the conditions were exactly like at that moment.
