All I can see is that the last one didn't turn out so well.

Did she scrub off the original? I thought she just painted over it.

Have to visit the parents tomorrow. I've been doing my due diligence and haven't seen them since I got back from Japan in February, to be careful since they're on the lower-end of the "at-risk group" for COVID.

But they need more support since my grandmother is on her deathbed in hospice now since this past Monday and it's taking a toll on them. So I'm gonna figure out how to get there tomorrow (40 miles away) without CHP bothering me for being away from home and also how to interact carefully with them. But I think now it's worth it because they're pretty much alone at this point.

Wish this coronavirus shit was done with. I can't even see my grandmother before she passes away soon. Shit sucks.

I suggest you try to call your grandmother, I'm sure she would like to hear your voice at least.

Yep, it would be timely to visit your parents, even if you have to wear masks and sit outside six feet away from each other.

If the CHP stops you (which I doubt) just tell him/her that you haven't seen your folks in several weeks and that you need to visit with them.

I spoke to her with Facetime two days ago since my dad was with her and able to call me to show her. She'd already deteriorated such that she could barely understand, hear, or see me. And I heard from my parents today that she's not even really lucid or very awake anymore. She has an inoperable brain tumor, so it's unfortunately took away much if not all of her cognition at this point.

But yeah, that stuff with the parents is the plan.

Oh boy, not even 9:30am and I've encountered an absolute prick while out doing a curbside pickup at Canadian Tire for some tools.

Basically as soon as I pull in this douchebag is already just fucking giving it to the poor guy who's running around the parking lot trying to get to everyone to coordinate the order pickups. Luckily, karma hit this guy fast and satisfyingly. As the guy is in mid sentence with another complaint about not being helped, the worker just comes directly to my car ignoring the complainer, and as the guy starts to team into the kid for not helping him first, I just say "it would help if you weren't being an asshole to a guy who's only trying to do his job and help people."

Guy shut his mouth real quick, and was awfully polite when the worker came to him next.

He looks like he's now sitting in his truck, sulking.

Fuck the entitled attitude of people who can't wait a couple minutes for a clearly stressed as fuck teenager to come and help them.

Good luck. I've gone between Maryland and Pennsylvania like 10 times since this BS started and haven't gotten stopped once. Plenty of people are driving around. I don't live in CA though.

tl:dr; RANT! feel free to move along.

Banks are so weird. Stupid sometimes. And I'm ignoring the fact they all probably just upgraded to Windows 7 and IE 11, both of which are past end-of-life and are hopelessly insecure.

Trying to refi (slightly lower rate and a couple other tricks like putting $ we'd been saving for a kitchen remodel to pay things down) to get a mortgage that's not making us live beyond a single paycheck (10 months and counting for my wife seeking work... good economy never was, but some people sure were fooled) and we're stuck because, like nearly every other big company out there, employment verification is automated. And they insist they have to talk to a person. I have a letter AND they can call a number. Services put in place for exactly this kind of thing.

Also evidently need to clean our gutters... though I can see nothing in the neighbor's, and their roofline is a good deal lower than ours. And we had roofers out 3x in the first 3 years (wind tear-off... same spot. 3rd time was to just redo a 10 year old roof), and they always reported clean gutters. I guess a plumber called to investigate why the neighbor's back door had flooding says it's our gutters though. Hope it's not a dead animal blocking the downspout. Or worse, a blockage below grade (downspout is cemented into a drain poking out of the concrete between the houses... houses are ~5' apart at most.)

Also nice days with the windows open and random people walking by who I can hear loudly complaining about how much nicer the (other) neighbor's place looks. The one that gives me the creeps. You know the kind. All white interior. Little poof-ball dog can't even walk outside... it's carried out, set down to do its business, and then carried back inside. Well, it's sparse (annual) flowers set far too perfectly into carefully bare dirt. Everything lined up like little fascist army men.

Ok. People are stupid and mean on the whole. Planet should find a way to just... fix the problem. Can the next virus target the ignorant and willfully stupid please? The ones on the bottom half of the dunning-kruger curve.

Lol. That shit is annoying. I would have told the kid you are not required to serve him.

Speaking of karma. I remember this time over 10 years ago. I was driving with a buddy, we had just got off work and where riding together. We go to make a right at a stoplight and this car coming the other direction makes a left in front of us and flips us off. It was a green for us meaning a yield for them since we had the right of way. The very next stoplight we are sitting in the lane to go straight, and the other car is in the left turn lane behind another car. Our light turned green and dipshit in the turn lane mashes the gas hard. Their lane was still red and they rammed into the car in front of them.
