Well folks, I survived another venture out into the wasteland to get provisions. I'm convinced that Walmart is getting like the public transit up in Seattle, since they aren't charging any fairs, due to the virus. How so? The public transit busses are full of homeless people just riding around for free as a place to be.

Anyway, back to the Walmart parking lot. I cruised around and found a "safe" place to park. No, not a place that I wouldn't get my car dented, a place far away from the "settlers" sitting in their vans/cars and motorhomes, waiting for people to park and go into the store, so they can break into their cars. Yes, it was daytime. No, I don't leave anything in my car.

I dawned my wanna be N-95 mask, bowed my neck and entered the store. Why is it that as soon as I put that damn mask on my nose starts running, I start to drool, my nose itches and I want to cough??

The store was full of what looked to be homeless people; young people wearing face masks and ugly old farts NOT wearing masks - go figure! I got stuck in a checkout line with the worlds slowest checker and a "Wuhan Mary" in front of me and behind me.

THAT'S IT!

I have yet to alter the majority of my daily travels...I work during the week, visit local brewery once per week (for take out), work on cars over the weekends with friends at a distance...sadly I have not attended any NHL games or played any rec league hockey during this time...
I have yet to wear a mask...but will if it is required by der gubermint.
I do wash my hands more frequently, I do not touch my face or eyes, I do wipe down the hard surfaces at work frequently, I do not shake hands and limit my touching of things I did not clean myself, I avoid sickly people.
I do notice that traffic is lighter but slowly increasing.
I have noticed that the average speed, and the risks taken when driving has increased dramatically...way past the point of being safe. When things reopen I expect traffic accidents and deaths to spike.
I have noticed that the average person falls into one of 4 categories:
1. People who don't give a shit about a damn virus, its a damn hoax or I'm dying anyway.
2. People who take common sense measures to prevent contracting or spreading a virus.
3. People who are concerned about a virus but still venture out only when absolutely necessary.
4. People who are scared beyond sense and reason about a virus and refuse to step outside until the apocalypse has passed and criticize any attempt at returning to normalcy.
I'm a number 2

I wonder to myself why many forms of social media; YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. are removing any content of dissenting opinions on the virus regardless of the credentials of the person giving those opinions.
I question how walking, running or swimming on a beach is OK but sitting, sunbathing or stopping while on the beach...even at an acceptable social distance...is not.

I'm somewhere between 1 and 2, but I stay home anyway for the most part since I can program computers from home and my flying has decreased to about once a week. I have been using Amazon for almost everything since long before it was cool. Although if Prime doesn't go back to 2 days shipping in about 2 days I might cancel the subscription. Anyhow yeah much of the closures seem to be more punishments than actual efforts to stay safe. Sunbathing on the beach with people you live with anyway is a perfect example. It's almost like they just want everyone to sacrifice regardless of whether it is helpful or not. Like why are racetracks closed? Maybe for NASCAR ok 200k people ain't happening but like why can't HPDE who only has 3 specators who aren't on the crew just race without said 3 spectator or why can't 3 people maintain 6ft distance on a few hundred acre property to watch the race... Either way I think with the summer here people will be ready to move on. The best cure for respiratory illness is to get outside and BREATHE so anyone who wants to close the outside does not care for your health.

Because, for the beach police to catch up with them takes too much effort.

Chatting with a bikini clad honey sitting still on the beach is much more pleasing.
