So, I purchased a old boat to work on.
2002 VX Commodore SS series II LS1 Auto Only has 110k km on it. Should keep me busy during this impending apocalypse. Ad long as Ebay and the post keep working that is. It is actually in tip top condition, I will just end up pulling it to peices and service everything. I'm going to give it a few months before I purchase a new car.

As an American, it’s always cool to see what we don’t get here. From what I’ve read and seen, Holden is a revered brand with quite a history. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

It did have a huge following, same as Ford. The really only 2 big brands that did affordable V8 sedans and Coupes. But, the lost the plot and began screwing over their customers with poor quality products and non-existent after sales service. If you were extremely lucky you got a good car, most were not though. I wish we had more of the muscle cars that were released in the states, and not at the insane prices that they wanted for them, the last gen Mustang cost about $150k AUD for the base model. Now, they're around $80k AUD for the 5.0. At least the American parent companies of Ford and GM did OK from the demise of the Australian brands, the Australian government pumped billion dollar grants into them to keep them going and employing workers, both Ford and GM said thanks and sent the money to the US. The Australian big bosses also came out with big bonuses from the US parent companies for playing the game. Soon after the money transferred both Ford and Holden shut their doors and sacked all the employees by text message....classic. In other news: I still haven't found a new car that floats my boat. I did contemplate a Mustang 5.0 for a while, but........meh.......the Mrs has suggested that the big red sedan could be turned into a drag car and to buy something like a Landcruiser to tow it.....I think she just wants a Landcruiser because it's more comfortable than any sports car we have looked at. Meanwhile I'm dropping a little more cash into the SS, it's now got a cam and I'm trying to workout what stall converter to use, somewhere around the 3-3.5k rpm I'm thinking. As for the trans cooler, I think I'll just piece that puppy up myself and run it inline with the OEM radiator. Pre or post radiator and exact location ??? I'm still working out the details.

S15? Similar ethos to an 86 and it already has a turbo. Downside, they’re getting a bit long in the tooth.
