I guess I need to get dressed today.

Now I just need to get it upstairs.

I have a Sony with bar and subwoofer, which will be coming downstairs with the 55" . I think I spent $100 on it years ago. Works really well. maybe something a bit more powerful? Big room, mostly movies and sports. Something like this looks good.

I wanted the white glove delivery for $40 more to take it upstairs, but Costco isn't offering that anymore with the virus.

That reminds me of the time, in my 2 story, 4000 sq ft house, back in Missouri, when my new wife (the present mrs humfrz) wanted me to get a new bed, because she didn't want to sleep on the one that my ex had slept on.

So we shopped forever and she made a selection and we ordered up a giant new bed and paid to have it delivered and set up. The delivery men wouldn't install it because that would require folding the mattress to get it upstairs, which would void the warranty.

SO, we had to go back and look all over again to find one that was bendable -

not going to find anything much better/different for under $600.

personally, i like having a separate receiver for easier connectability, and the receivers generally have better options-- like internet radio. and the possibility to upgrade later to surround sound for more movie realistic stuff..

a starter setup would look something like this:

sound bar: $140 https://www.parts-express.com/dayton...black--300-684

subwoofer: $100 https://www.parts-express.com/dayton...oofer--300-627

wi-fi capable receiver: $400 https://www.parts-express.com/yamaha...-chan--312-545

Is that stuff in english? I wouldn't even know how to set it up.

There is wiring in the room already. There are 2 speakers on the ceiling just about above where the couches are. There is an electrical box both left and right of where the TV is with wires hanging out, and a box with a cover on it behind the tv.

And this behind the tv.

Just it. Mine is a Best Buy special version with 4 speakers and a sub built in. I don't like the TV cranked up even with movies so just look for some separation and a bit more bass. The TV with the extra speakers sounds really good for my basic needs.
The sound bar I had with the 55" was a Sony just like you showed. Even the sub looks the same. It was pretty good as well actually. I don't like the TV cranked up even with movies so just look for some separation and a bit more bass.

so the good news is the room is wired for surround sound! the bad news is if what i posted sounds daunting, using what's there is going to be a little more daunting... you could have best buy install it, if you really wanted...
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/yamaha-...?skuId=6358594

go with the sony sound bar. it's going to be easier, and it doesn't sound like the added complexity of additional stuffs is going to make it any better for you.

Reminds me of a few years back when my dad's eyesight was really failing, he was complaining that his TV was too small. I ask my brother if we should chip in and get him a bigger TV. My brother replied, nah, not necessary, we just rearranged his living room so his chair is closer to the TV, he's happy now.

I have no idea what game that is, but I do not suggest attacking the underwater crack pipe with a glowy knife. Even if it has a Triforce piece on the blade.
