Reminds me of when I used to work in a large bookshop. I was occasionally told that the same book a customer was considering was available in town for a few dollars cheaper. Do we price match. No, I'm sorry, we do not. If that person asked about price matching they would usually leave the shop without buying the book. It wasn't my job to tell them about the cost of fuel, wear and tear on their car and the price of parking. I found the rationale weird. Like completely bizarre.

Are bikini coffee stands not common in the UK? They are everywhere around here.

My dad is like that. He will buy cheap laminate flooring for our rentals even though it takes 3 times as long to install. Last time we worked on a rental he bought the cheapest drain kit he could find for this sink we replaced. Took him easily 3+ hours of messing with it to get it to stop leaking I gave him shit for a while about how if he was paying himself 10/hr he could have bought the most expensive one and still had money left over for beer

The weather does funny things to certain parts of the body...so not recommended, however, we do get the "strange" folk who walk stark naked in the public...

We live walking distance from supermarkets, bookshops and hardware stores so the little extra that I may pay is offset when I apply the logic that you have spelled out above. My wife is also of the same thinking..

Also keeps local shops going... And things are available there and then, don't have to wait several days..

I typed "Unknown" although I was tempted to enter USA. Hell, my family goes back to at least the 1800's in the US. At what point does that become your Origin? Folks in UK didn't "originate" there. In the end, shouldn't we all enter Africa or "Primordial Ooze"

i once knew a "Joe's barber shop" where 5 of the 6 guys there were named Joe.

it changed hands 4 times between different Joe's, before a Matt took over and finally got a new sign.

Oregon is locally in-famous for tiddy bars.
Regional anomaly. WA is known to be up tight prudes.

Reminds me of most landlords I've known. They buy the cheapest, worst quality stuff for the rental, then are "amazed" it only lasted a short time because the renters "ruined" it.

Wow I'm the total opposite. I buy stuff they will want to appreciate. I mean I don't go crazy because who knows what they will do but like when the fridge broke I got a formerly $2k 28cu ft Maytag for like $700 because it had a scratch on the side. It's a great selling point open that bad boy up. Same thing with the faucet I put it in a nice removable head faucet with the separate matching soap dispenser. I actually enjoy fixing things, but I don't want to have fix the same thing twice because that's boring. I guess I'm not most landlords. Then again I only have one property so it's more of a quality over quantity approach.
