As I said and Shaky extended read the Foundation novels by Issac Asimov. This is actually addressed in the books. Your "loved" one is that way because you have a known and limited time with them. If you are living forever then life as you know it would not exist. Eternal love is a nice concept for Valentines cards but the reality of it would wear thing. Oh and no kids. Unless you had them before the breakthroughs you are not getting a chance since everybody already alive stays that way. All in all living forever would just suck no matter what the circumstances.

On the topic of living forever, 'Altered Carbon' on netflix is pretty cool. First season is a bit lame (main characters sleeve is unlikable, but sets up the main character, second season and the animated movie are much much better.

Oh and main character wears a cute little backpack season 1.

I was actually not thinking about the loved ones or other things in the first place. A simpler thing was on my mind. That is: staying alive is a strong instinct.

So if there is a medicine that I can take and be young forever, but I wouldn't take it and die because living forever would just suck? I don't believe I would.

I think the way we age might be solvable someday. You could still die by accident, but not ~100yr cap.

this is also referenced in the twilight series when they first seriously meet, and later when she's talking to the family--because the vampires were immortal, they pretty much kept their distance from everyone else so they didn't have to go through the constant heartbreak of the connections, loss, or explanations of why they didn't change.

None is my guess. Unless there was some sort of coup then it was made by Admin and removed by Admin. Don't think we will get an explanation as to why.

Weird shenanigans going on here. When the sub-forum disappeared, the name of the Scion FR-S / Toyota 86 forum changed to include GR86. I would have grabbed a screen shot if I had realized they would change that back also.

I think they're just messing with us.

My best guess is that Admin made the thread in good faith based on the clickbaits that resurrected the old "leaked" timeline info slide and somebody at an in the know level far above the rest of us told him "ahhhh don't bother".
Admin hasn't show up much for a couple of years now but I have never thought of them as a person that would mess with us.
