Part of that is just the lighting from the setting sun. Half an hour later it just looked like old school British Racing green. An hour later it looked more black than green. Much like the Lava could look anything from brown to gold depending on the lighting.

It is amazing how they are so different but so much the same. The colour makes the Hakone look much smaller than the Lava even though I know they are both the same size. It even looks lower but the Lava is dropped 1 1/2". I will not be lowering this one as the dark colour hides the wheel gap enough for my tastes.

I hate the front bumper on the 17+ cars but the colour seems to hide much of the weird angles that I find distasteful so I can live with it. I also never liked the pictures of the tail lights on the light coloured cars but they just work with the dark. The headlights with the black inner surfaces instead of the FRS chrome are just stunning against the dark paint. The chrome Toyota badges have to go but I have to decide if I want satin black or bronze. The tan on the seats is far better than pictures make it look. I am glad they stuck to just the seats though since any more (like the steering wheel and doors of the RS2) would be a bit much. I just would have liked if they had used the tan stitching on the back seat and door panels.

I must do something about the calipers. They never bothered me with the FRS wheels but against the bronze they stand out like a beacon and really impact the look. Will look into covers if I can find some that don't say Brimbo or something stupid but paint is also an option. Will probably just go with black not red or yellow or any other "rice" colour though.

Not sure how long I will tolerate the anemic sounding stock exhaust. Will give it a go (the neighbors will love it I am sure) but so far it just doesn't do it for me. At least there are loads of options. I now understand all the complaints of road noise that I thought were odd since the Lava came from the dealer with TRD exhaust so I never really noticed. Oh, and damn those Primacy tires are loud! I had forgotten just how noisy they were.

All in all the driving is about the same. The final drive change may give it a bit more pep but that could also just be in my head. The alcantara seats feel much firmer than the cloth but that may just be because they are not broken in yet. Finally, although I love the function of the HVAC system and dash info centre I do not like the number of lights they felt were needed. The HAVAC controls look like a bloody Christmas tree and the info centre is a demonstration of inserting a square peg into a round hole which conflicts with my sense of order.

That colour really turns heads though!

I vote for black on both.

I still feel that flat black would be better. I would think that the bronze color on the badges would make it look like some kid painted it -

Makes sense.

Hey, you have to tell the new owner of Mr. Lava to join the forum and keep the car in our family!

They will be joining. It was a contact through here that hooked us up.

There are some pretty nice bronze/gold badges online. I am leaning toward the black ones that can be ordered though. Wouldn't wat flat black since then they would just look plastidipped.

The bronze/gold look nice, give them a go. I agree flat black won't work with the green.

Can I also suggest that you get the rear exhaust pipes readjusted so that they actually poke out a wee bit, much like the Euro spec..

As for lowering, I think dropped but not as much as your Lava will really work.. and spacers to really get the wheels blinging. I used to hate my wheels until I got the spacers, made such a difference.

The only part of the bronze badges is that other than the wheels everything else is black.
I didn't think of spacers. will give the height a while to see if it starts to nag at me.
I am fine with the tips as is. Don't want them sticking out much more since then they are taking the brunt of the force when reversing in deep snow. You wouldn't think that would be a big deal but I have had issues with it in other cars.

Get the bronze badges (if not expensive) just as a tester.. you never know. I have a feeling that they will work as the fender emblems will help make the connection with the wheels.
