We are not shut down. Only certain businesses are not allowed to operate. A lot of them were already closed when they started reducing the size of public groups. All other businesses not listed in article 2 of the executive order are allowed to operate as long as you appoint an employee to establish, implement, and enforce social distancing policies. It is really not that strict.

Yes, I read the EO. It's a pretty comprehensive set of orders and the variable that will unfortunately introduce uncertainty is the indefinite time frame. Those businesses that can't adapt are in trouble and worse, as we're seeing in DC today, it opens the door to new rules, regulations and laws imposed on us without a vote.

Driving into Portland today, I saw few stores open but lots of grocery, pizza, Amazon, FedEx and UPS delivery trucks.

Your previous post came across as if you hadn't. It's a pretty mild order. The indefinite time frame is a killer for us. We are already expecting in the range of a 30% downturn if things stopped as they are today for us. As much as I hate the way this state uses EO's to force things though I don't see it practical that new regulations and laws in this matter where voted on at this time. The situation is changing quite rapidly and decisions need to be made. The indecisiveness and half assed measures are going to drag on the situation.

OK, it's still party time at Sapphirehos, just bring Purell instead of Wesson oil.

Well, we are probably reducing the amount of car crashes now...

Not in our product line. Mainly we produce ferrotitanium to add in the steelmaking process.

Contrary to popular belief, if we all hide out in our houses for 2-4 weeks, the virus will still be present...

I just commented on this to my wife yesterday only I have the opposite impression. We had to go out and although there were far fewer cars on the road the ones that were seemed to be almost exclusively driving like morons. I came up behind four different cars that were traveling at 20mph below the speed limit (This can be as dangerous as going 20 over), Saw two drive straight through red lights (The light didn't change as they got to it but had been red for several seconds), people suddenly changed lanes for no apparent reason, they would come to a full stop to make right hand turns into driveways, all in all just be totally unpredictable. Yes these things happen all the time but it was so very much worse than normal.
I did notice that many of them were old and the cars were those 15 year + but still in perfect condition types that indicate they don't drive much at the best of times.

The idea is to spread things out so that the facilities can deal with it not really to stop it.
The only opportunity to stop it was before it got here but they didn't shut down international (actually intercontinental for us) travel in time.

Yes. In fact the Jack Daniels Distillery is in a dry county.
