I think it depends by person and job. I've done it full time when I was a programmer, and have done it varying up to about 20% of the time at other jobs. I am much more productive when working from home.

My last job I had responsibility for a large swatch of the Southeast and spent a large percentage of my time on conference calls with employees, etc. If I was in my office at work, I was basically in my office. It was no different than being at home in my "office".

My living room only has a two person love seat sofa.

It's awful. I guess at least I can keep my door open for fresh air because I have a screen door.

I'm thinking I'll just be going on short 20-30 min drives here and there (even though technically that's not even allowed according to the ordinance) and make an excuse of going to some super out of the way supermarket for groceries.

Also, my apartment manager just shut off the water for a "plumbing issue" and no idea of an ETA.

Great timing.
I just moved into a 240 sqft studio a couple months ago. Living room, bedroom, kitchen, dinning room are all the same place Even though it prolongs my suffering I gave my renter that I am evicting an extension since I doubt they will be able to find a place and move by the deadline.

If it was the norm and your daily routine it would be different than if temporary and not used to it. Some are also just home because the schools are closed and they can't get daycare orelse they would still be onsite.
I doubt that many of our people currently "working" from home are getting much work done. Conference calls are constantly being interrupted by little kids saying "mommy, mommy, mommy, mommy", one person was called three times in a day to be told he was "in the shower" by some small child answering his work phone and some take 2 or 3 hours to reply to an email or Skype request. I have a hard time believing these people are doing much beyond babysitting their kids.

Yea, probably so, and I'm guessing most companies know that in this situation, but may be taking a bit of a "don't ask don't tell" method to it while paying them.

One problem I did have for a while is that our dog at the time I was last doing this regularly (a 150lb Newfoundland) liked to sleep under my desk. She also could snore like a freight train at times. I would sometimes have to explain that "I swear it's not me" and then show her on camera just to remove doubt.

When we have ones that size I amuse myself by muting people who forget how to do it. That eliminates a lot of stupid questions since they probably don't know the secret code to unmute on a cellphone.

And then there's this:

And then there's this:

Conference calls are when I spend the bulk of my time posting here. We have 3 or 4 a week and I have to attend all the North American calls. Since 98% of what is discussed is USA and has zero impact on me I just make sure my name shows up as on and listen with half an ear for anything directed at me or where I can offer input. It is rare. when I even unmute my mic.

Oh an *6

Yep, that's a large portion of my day as well.
