That's such a lie. I'll give you that there's no such thing as good mass market american beer.. but just like Canada has good micro brews, so does the US. Not like Labatt's and other canadian piss is any good either.

Yes, yes it is. But, it's an old Canadian thing. I think it had more to to with our beers being 5% and yours being 4% at teh time

I believe it was referred to as pisswater or donkey piss lol

The beers were always the same alcohol content. The way of measuring and reporting it were all that was different so the "weak" American beer myth was born. Americans use alcohol-by-weight but Canadians use alcohol-by-volume. This myth was also more prevalent when Canadian beers were mostly heavier bodied and stronger tasting ales and pilsners while the American market were mostly the lighter tasting and watery looking lagers. This created the false perception that the Canadian beers were "stronger".

Now the US is also (mostly) using the by volume measure so it seems like all of a sudden their beer is stronger when in fact it is the same as it always has been.

Well, isn't that interesting. I never did understand why people said things like "I could drink 10 of those and not feel a thing" We used to go across the border every weekend because the bars were open later. I got wasted just the same.

The good ole days...

No. It will probably be sold this afternoon for much more than that.
