Exclamation Reverse light not getting power

Hi everyone,
This is my first posting ever. I have a 2015 Scion FR-S. I noticed my reverse light on the bottom of the rear bumper is not working. I checked the fuse under the steering wheel and changed the bulbs, but had no luck. I also checked the plug that sits on top of the transmission too. Lastly I did a test on the connector that comes from the harness that is in the trunk area and it isn’t getting any power... I have no idea what it could be either. I noticed in the hood fuse box there are 2 fuses labeled, “RR fog light”, but I read that it is used in other countries (I live in San Diego, CA). Your help would be greatly appreciated since I’ve scavenged the forums for help, but can’t seem to find a thread for this exact issue that has an answer.

Does the “R” show up on your dash when you’re in reverse?

Not much help if a MT though.
Any modifications to the car? Shifter changes or work?

Mine is an MT and I have the gear indicator enabled so it shows R when the clutch is out in reverse.

I had no indicator or back up lights after the shop that changed my clutch crushed the plug putting the tranny back in. It looked fine, well felt fine because it can't be seen well, but when they had my motor out for the recall work I had the tech check it out and sure enough it was no good. Thankfully he was able to Macgyver it back into shape and saved me having to get a new harness. If the tranny has been out I'd double check that plug and see if it's actually good.

OK rephrase
Not much help if you have MT and do not have the dash indicator turned on.

Crushed connector? No power at connector? First thing I'd look into is fuses. I can find out tomorrow which fuse exactly you need to check if you don't wanna just go through them all

My reverse sensor on top of the transmission was crushed just like yours. It really didn’t completely fail until 2 years later. It fully “clicked” into place, but ultimately something was wrong with it.

You can buy the oem cable for $25 but I think the transmission needs to be dropped for install...but I bought this guy and just did some reconnecting of the wires and it’s all good now.

Might not be it, but if you have a squished oem plug it’s worth a shot.
