If anyone else has bought from Heuberger and had their car trucked out-of-state, can you provide some thoughts on how that process went and if everything worked out ok doing that? Thanks.
I know of at least one guy I was speaking through pm's who bought a BRZ from Heuberger who lived out of state. He was the one who bought the limited wrb that I sort of regret passing up on.

Yea, the shifting is a stiffer at first, but doesn't bother me at all... I drive so many different types of cars while working at a body shop that this drives like a dream. Shifts quick and smooth ... While keeping it under 4k rpm, I'm through all the gears in no time... Or maybe I'm just speeding....

Clutch is soft, but it's still stock.... Nothing like the ITR.... Honda fanboy at heart, lol

Also, my other car doesn't have power steering so this is a god send, lol....

The smell you are talking about may be the cat. When you get a new car, or install a new cat converter, there is sometimes a smell when it heats up.... I thought it was my clutch at first, but remembered.

Could the steering actually be different between the FRS and the BRZ?

Oh, the sound from the motor is weird compared to Honda. It's actually the boxer motor AND the Toyota injection system. Even In a Lexus, the noise is there, but covered by all that baffling....

I think it is, I prefer the stiffer steering response of the FRS. Reminds me of the BMW's before they used electronic power steering. It could be because my wheels aren't broken in yet and that's why the steering doesn't feel as good.

The ITR was quite the beast during it's days. 195 hp 1.8L, 8400 red line, hand port n polished motor, 2,400 lbs (mines was anyways), blinging phoenix yellow paint, all for $25k and this was from fifteen years ago. It took 15 years from a competitor to make a vehicle that could rival it from a price point.

If you've ever driven or owned one, you would understand it's greatness. If Honda was smart and brought over the CTR , I think a lot of people would choose the CTR over the BRZ if they didn't have a preferred platform. The only car that I have kept longer than three years is the ITR, hopefully I'll keep the BRZ for ten years or more like the ITR.

I really do like the BRZ a lot. The brake feel is excellent and although my car has less than 40 miles on it, the motor feels like it wants to be pushed past the 3,500 rpm limit I set. I love how the exterior looks minus the tail lights and mustache. It c0mes with a lot of features that the FRS doesn't offer and it's all for $27k.

Waiting for everyone to be the guinea pig for aftermarket performance parts before I purchase some in the future.

Shipped from Cali?
Give it back, we still need more BRZs/FRSs in here!
lol jk. Congrats on the ride, but sucks about that recent damage.
Is the scratch a simple rub? Feel the scratch. If it "traps" your nails when you drag them across the scratch, it went through the clearcoat and paint; otherwise it could be buffed out and/or minimized to the point of not being recognizable.
I do detailing as a hobby. Post pics so we can see.

oh I quite agree. I love Honda. I refuse to give up my Civic even after all the offers. When I have kids, they aren't touching it. The ITR is a great car...

When I was looking for a new car, I made a big list of cars... but nothing felt right until I looked over the BRZ. It has the same idea/feel as the cars in the '90s. Too bad Honda has been stacking... the new Civic Si doesn't compare... the CRZ is interesting, like the look, but not the Hybrid...

I set my shift light to 3700rpm, but it definitely wants to go faster... even locally, I'm going through all gears... so much potential in this car like the Integra, Civic, MR2, RX7, Celica, 240SX, 300ZX, and all the other classic tuner cars...

awesome.
hmmn did they say yours would be there in a month? for mine they said 2-3 months...

just saw that it's about 1350 miles to drive. That puts you right about in Reno as you pass 1000 miles, perfect place to stop for an oil change once break-in is complete. Then the rest of the way home...

Depending on traffic and overall conditions on the way back, I was thinking of stopping in SLC, then Reno for the second night.. Good call on the oil change in NV.

I thought babying the car during the break-in period was actually the worst thing you can do, that is what I was told by many forum members as well as what a lot of people have been saying in the magazines?

OP, since your car was shipped by train, inspect the paint for rail dust and remove asap. I think you can take it out with clay.

I got that crap on my CR-Z and it was really hard to get out.

sorry to hear about your bumper.
