Fast is never fast enough anyway.

Then why do you own one? All of your posts have been about wanting more power, the car is slow. Plenty of other options that have more output. It doesn't sound like you do track days or autoX. So the lightweight, decent handling, and good braking performance shouldn't be that much of a factor in your car owning decision. It just comes across as a bunch of whinge.

Well that makes more sense. May I suggest an eco boost mustang instead?

Other cars I’m interested in is the new Z as it’s supposed to get a turbo. I’d really prefer a 2+2, but depending on if Nissan can pull it off without it weighing a ton, and keep the 6MT it might be an option. 370 is a turd too at 6,800ft. NA just sucks up here. Obviously the M2C is a top option but that is a lot of car to get into and the S55 crank hub problem scares the snot out of me as I know I’d mod/tune it. Can’t stomach a $25K engine replacement on top of a $60K car. Obviously the new STI is right around the corner which will probably be what I go with if the next gen BRZ doesn’t pan out, although the thought of another sedan bores me a bit. Been there done that multiple times with the EJ - really hoping they do a coupe. Stranger things have happened. |

My mom owns one. It’s not particularly fast either. If power is a goal, they should just get a Mustang GT and have sufficient power to pass a minivan without trying (which our twins have to push it). There’s a reason on longer trips I’ll leave the twin at home and take the GT. The twins are fun, but you’ve gotta do it on a nice curvy road or the AutoX track. For long straight highways where you wanna just sneeze and go too fast, nothing beats the grunt of a V8. That said, the latest generation cars also have a bit of handling behind that grunt now. That said, I also own a broken down British roadster that when it was running could barely outrun an asthmatic amputee. Still working on getting that thing to do stuff again, but it was a hoot.

A more serious suggestion, and they'll only be second-hand at this point - Genesis Coupe with the 3.8. Respectable power, RWD, and not terribly larger than a twin. I would say it's more on par with a Z car. It's a shame Hyundai decided to kill it off.

Can’t say much, but let’s just saying if you own 86/BRZ, keep em. If you don’t own one, buy em ASAP.
