Will be fun to see how many times the words "entitled", "deserve" and "owe" come up in the petition comments.
Yeah, I guess I wouldn't be happy about it either. Coming from the motorcycle world I am used to drastic year to year updates

If so, that pretty much puts a nail in the coffin of my next car being a Toyota..ish

All things being said and done, I still believe Toyota should offered the Supra with the updated B58 from the start, since BMW had that motor already. It makes me wonder if something happened behind the scenes that prevented the higher horsepower motor from going into the 2020 Supra.

Though I guess it probably won't matter if BMW introduces a Z4 M hardtop and/or Toyota introduces an M-powered Supra in the years to come. Then we'll see a lot of petitions like these.

From the mid 50s to the late 70s it was pretty much the norm for cars to have large increases from one year to the next. It was so normal that people just lived with the idea that the next year may hold bigger and better things and didn't scream "unfair" at the clouds.

The entire concept that it is somehow "unfair" that the manufacturers would improve their product one year to the next is foreign to me. I mean what industry doesn't do "new and improved" from laundry detergent all the way up to skyscraper builders.

I wouldn't buy from a company that didn't improve their product over time.

Indeed it is only unfair if it is done purposely to intentionally sell a poorer product. No different that the woes of buying a car just before the announced refresh.

Early adopters always get the short end of the stick. This is not new.

Well they did make the post 13s so they don't blow engines randomly so we have that going for us.

I wonder if next year they offer a street version of the GT4 as their ultimate car? I really don't buy the 4 cyl Supra as an upgrade to our car without the manual. Plus, the 400 lb. leap in weight is too far of a jump. It's very much a different type of car.

I'm more interested in the suspension tweaks than the power bump.

Looking forward to 2021 road tests of both engine models especially by pros like Randy Pobst who criticized the 2020 for unpredictable reactions at times from the rear.

The 2021 Supra is another example of why you should never buy a first year model of a brand new platform.
