well it's all over!

my favorite commercial was the jason mamoa one. was watching the game with my sisters husbands family and their actor friends. right before he took his arms off, one of the ladies started screaming "TAKE YOUR SHIRT OFF ALREADY".

someone pointed out to me that Password:JDM is going out of business, or at least they will be down for a long time because someone at the top is retiring. Sad. all pwJDM branded stuff is 40% off on their site

I suck at parallel parking, and as a result managed to curb one of the wheels on the WRX. Looking to get it repaired to hide my shame, and called a collision center I've used in the past. Here's how the call went:

Me: "Hey, I have a wheel with curb rash on it. It is currently off the car. Could I drop it off there to be repaired whenever you get to it?"
Shop: "I don't know, let me check. *2 minute hold* I talked to the manager and we don't do tire repair here. You should call Penn Tire."
Me: "Just to make sure, the damage is to the wheel, not the tire. That's a tire store and I don't think they repair wheels."
Shop: "Yeah, for your tire repair."
Me: "No, I need the wheel fixed, not the tire."
Shop: "Yeah."
Me: "Okey dokey."

Called Penn Tire. They're a tire shop and don't repair wheels.

I try not to be too picky when working with people in a service industry, but I feel like knowing the difference between a wheel and a tire should be a minimum bar when answering the phone for an automotive collision repair shop.

Yikes. In my experience non-car people are always like this. They think the whole thing that spins is the tire or wheel and sometimes refuse to understand the difference.

To Scoob's point you would expect a person answering the phone at an automotive shop of any kind to at least have a working knowledge of the terminology.

Our parts lady of 26 years does this. Drives me crazy. After 20+ years of going over parts diagrams and answering the phone, inputting orders how the hell do you not pick it up just a little bit

Her famous phrase, "I am not a mechanic."

I would venture to guess they outsource wheel work and the receptionist doesn't know enough and didn't ask your question verbatim to whoever they checked with.

Collision centers have not been the most helpful places in my experience outside body work and bolt on suspension stuff. Years ago my STi came back to me with a ABS light and bad wheel bearing that i had to get dealt with. Took me a couple months since I didn't know a whole lot about cars at the time.

Yeah. Which just kind of goes to show that not everybody has that kind of knowledge anymore. Disappointing but .

Holy shit.

Here you go. You are going to need a voltage reducing device. Shouldn’t have any issues with cold starts. This ones used I so could probably let it go for 2300.
