He asked about engine modifications too so I just said I’m not tuned but I do have the flex fuel kit installed but that it’s not plugged in, only the fuel lines are connected to it.

We’ll see what happens.

I did mine at 65K and they looked perfect. Electrode had nice and sharp edges.

I am really curious what they find. Hopefully it's a cheap fix. I bet money they blame the FF kit

I'm totally stupid.. I thought the issue was finally resolved, so I kept waiting and waiting to remove the FF kit thinking "well it's not happening like it was, so I won't have to bring it in".

And then of course it finally does happen, and it's at the worst time where I don't have tools/a friend available at that moment to help remove it.

I've officially accepted the job offer from new employer.

The "counter-offer" I received my current work was tempting, since it was already in the works before this new job was even on my horizon. But, ultimately, there was a reason I wanted to leave and once I remembered that, I accepted the job within minutes.

Nice thing about new job is that they're counting my current experience as time in service with them, so right off the bat they're giving me an additional week of vacation. So that brings me up to 4 weeks, plus I get a "scheduled day off" once a month (aka, "Enjoy your paid Friday off, see ya Monday").

I am excited.

So the advisor just told me the tech couldn’t finish diagnostics or do a leak down test because of the flex fuel kit, and was saying the flex fuel kit “caused it”. So I had to authorize a 250 dollar fee to have them run the diagnostic anyway.

Damn it. I really don't buy into that. They are just pointing to the non OEM part. Doesn't mean it's not possible, but how many people with FF have had this type of issue? I bet it's none.

How long between this issue and the last one?

So I authorized it for now but after the test is over and stuff I’m going to see if I can have them provide a reasonable explanation why it would be at fault. See if I can get them to waive it.

The last time it was like this was October. But intermittently since then occasionally the idle revs would dip a little weirdly but I wasn’t sure that it was related because I never got a CEL.

Too bad you are so far away. Even though my OFT is married to my car it could still be hooked up to yours and we can see the real time info from the ECU. I'd be curious to know what it is doing when it stumbles.

My personal guess based on what is going on is the MAF. Either going bad or dirty.

This is what dealers do. They are worthless for diagnostics on a modded car. I took my car in a couple times (never paid thankfully) when my car was stalling when coming to a stop. The last visit they tried to blame it on my bluetooth OBD dongle I had left plugged in
