If you look up the real history you will find that the bowler hat was much more common in the old west than the "cowboy" hat as we know it today.
The "10 gallon" cowboy hat that everybody knows is more of a Hollywood invention than something that was actually warn back then.

A little store founded by that great American hero, Sam Walton.

We don't have them anymore either. They lasted about two years after destroying Zellers.
Woolco, Zellers, Sears, Hudson Bay, Towers, Woolworths all either gone or a shadow of their former glory with Walmart coming to Canda.

Yep, you now know what shopping at WalMart feels like well except , since Asda is primarily grocery (as I recall), imagine a building where a typical Asda takes up about a 1/3 of the building and the other 150,000 sqft was everything from clothing to auto parts to (in the one near me) a full blown medical clinic. That's WalMart.

Unusually poor shopping experience, itty bitty prices that make up for it.

I miss Woolworth's lunch counters. I used to eat at one every Thursday with my Grandmother during the summers I spent on their farm (fortunately after they were desegregated). It's probably why I like Waffle House, reminds me of those days with my Grandmother.

At least there you get the prices. Since they pretty much have a monopoly here the prices are not all that great.

I did the same thing only no farm was involved. Until I was about 10 my grandparents would get me every Saturday morning. We would go downtown to Woolworths and have lunch at the counter and window shop. On my birthdays or special occations they would let me go to the hobby department and pick out a cheap kit then we would go back to their house and build it (in about 20 minutes).
