I have it on good authority (see sig) that the new body shape for the twins is a small AWD SUV type thing with more interior room, like a smaller, sportier Toyota C-HR
Powertrain is that new toyota hybrid engine. The whole marketing ploy will be focused on "moving to the future with performance". Further details and price is still to be confirmed. And no, this will never be over

Less weight, double wishbones up front, improved build quality.

Weak valve springs, so we still have something to talk about once the MK2 is 6 years old.

IF the internet has its way this is what the second gen would be:
1.) Twice as much power 2.) Half the cost 3.) Double the fuel economy 4.) 500lbs lighter 5.) rear seat delete 6.) BMW/Lexus/MB/Audi interior build/material quality 7.) Faster than a Porsche around the track. And it'll be totally realistic...... |

1) It is too powerful and hard to control 2) It still cost too much 3) The stated mileage doesn't happen when you drive it hard 4) The balance is off 5) It isn't practical since there are only two seats 6) A sports car shouldn't have that fancy of materials since nobody cares 7) It isn't as fast as a 918

2) Take out a loan you can afford it. 3) I get twice the mileage you are getting, you've got a fuel leak 4) Again, its you, not the car, lose 20 lbs already, 5) 4 seats? I need a third row for my cat/dog/iguana 6) But I keep bumping my knees on the hard plastic so I need padding 7) 918? I'm more worried about getting blown off the line by some soccer mom in her new Dodge Magnum Demon Edition.

Never too powerful because, you know, the internet is a great driver and can handle any amount of powa! If it is hard to control then it is bad engineering, man. Manufacturers fault!
