Don't give up... I'm sure Toyota wants to sell cars, so hopefully the dealer can team up and push your FR-S through!
I'm thankful... But at the same time I feel for you guys who haven't had your delivery yet.

I must have REALLY got lucky with mine. I walked into a dealer on a Tuesday, test drove a blue Scion... Told them I wanted a hot lava. Received my car on a Friday the same week. I guess my area wasn't interested.

Same here, i just went 90 miles out from my area, found a larger dealership with more pull. I asked for white and i lucked out and they were trading their black for a white one so got my name on it and it arrived within the week.
I urge anyone that has waited so long, put your feelers out a little from where you are looking and you would be surprised. The 90 miles back home flew by! |

I must have done something right in my life. Saw a dealer had the color and transmission I wanted before I went to sleep. I went to the dealer after work and they still had it, left with my new baby that day.

So you're in Maryland, too, huh? My situation isn't quite as bad; I pre-ordered my FR-S over a month ago, and still have very little idea of how long it'll take. Apparently, there was an arrival recently in NY, but the dealer has no idea whether or not anything will be allocated to them. I get the feeling that the allocations in MD are really low... the Subaru and Scion dealerships I've been in contact with have only received and sold one unit at most so far. Kinda frustrating; but, haven't really tried looking outside the immediate area... seems like some people have had some success with that.

You guys should be calling around to dealers within 250 miles of you. The scion dealer 4 miles down the road from me had a FRS delivery(1 car) at 8pm two days ago. I saw online that night at 1am it had an FRS listed in stock. I called about it 5 mins(8:05am) after the dealer opened the next day(yesterday). The salesman told me three other salesmen had the car listed as sold but didn't have any financing done on it. He also mentioned that the dealership had a first come first serve policy. So I beat feet over to the dealer, I lock the deal by 9am.
So my wait time 8 hours from the time I saw it listed on the website at 1am til locking the deal at 9am. I'm sure I pissed off three people but oh'well. Early bird gets the worm. |
