Those are nice. I have them in the hallways never the stairs in our house. I also have a couple of LED plug-in flashlights that come on when the power goes out, and then you can you can unplug them and take them with you.

I've also got at least one outlet in each bedroom, in the master bathroom and in the kitchen that have USB charging ports built into them.

It was a plethora of other reasons / factors. It's unfortunate but it is what it is.

That's not crazy/outlier at all. My view on it is we get up every morning and go to our job primarily for the money, but we start working for a company, or stay there, for all the other reasons that have nothing to do with money.

Of the 7 jobs I've had, every one of them was the last place I was going to work. In the end, jobs are just like dating, either its going to last forever, or its not. There are no other choices and when it goes bad and can't be fixed, its time to move on.

The health system I work for now is relatively small, with 4,000 employees its about the 10th or less the size of any other place I've worked, with a relatively flat org structure. I have to remind people of its size constantly when talking career advancement. Typical discussion is:

"I've been with the company for 10 years, and am looking for my next move, maybe into management"

"OK, I see you've been promoted within your position and are now a Sr. technical person so that would make sense."

"So, when can I move up".

"Well, lets consider it. As a senior technical person, you report to a Manager, who reports to a Director, who reports to the CIO, who in turn reports to the CEO. So, as soon as one of those positions become vacant you can apply. (with humor) Congratulations! You're in the same boat I'm in now."

That's when we have the "moving up sometimes means moving out if you aren't willing to wait, but we certainly hope you'll wait" discussion.

I bought 3 outlets with the two USB ports. I put one in the kitchen where we charge our phones and tablets, haven't decided where I'm going to put the others. They sure are tough to cram in the box.

I'm still swapping out switches and outlets. Going all rocker switches.

That's how my job was. I reported to the controller, who reported to the CFO, who reported to the CEO. No where to go.

Yea, they can definitely be a tight fit. When we did our kitchen remodel we also had the devil of a time finding one at all because we were using brown outlets with metal covers. It was basically a special order from the factory to get one.

I had one in the kitchen. One day it disappeared and I asked all three of the granddaughters what they did with it. The two older ones denied taking it, the three year old said she didn't know what I was talking about. Yep, it will be easier just to buy a new one -

It's a hall light. Great for outlets near the top of stairs for example.
