Praying it doesn’t come back but if it does I’m gonna end up going with remflex for sure. Stupid rusted flange.

Installed the OLM blue polarized heated wide side mirrors, not really sure if I actually had the wiring on my 2019 86, and made a discovery that I do indeed have heated mirrors. Fancy that! No pics, but I highly recommend the mirrors, probably the best functional add-on I did since the 4th brake light. I always have trouble with my blind spots (being 6'3" and being picky about my seating position makes fiddling with them a chore), so these will definitely help!

Took this picture today in preparation for making an add. But then changed my mind.... For now...

I also drove it to work as it was 57 degrees outside! Way better than the freezing temps and black ice we had last week!

Day 6 of no car. Never been this long without driving in about 10 years at least. Lots of using Uber. What's nice about Uber is getting to ride in comfortable cars with plush leather seats. That part of it has been nice. Having a break from the FRS is sort of refreshing.

Of course the bad is I just got a call. Everything is apart and ready to go back together, but a hydraulic line from the master slave cylinder to the clutch got messed up and started leaking fluid.

They are trying to source a part but nobody has any idea what they need to send because they just sell kits and I guess the line has some sort of kink in it so they can't just cut it and refit it??? I dunno. Maybe I'll get it back next week?

(Edit: Doh, I'm not a FR-S / 86... wrong thread. )

Found the eyedropper tool for the BRZ and other stablemate. #nerd

TBH I'm not a big fan of the little Alfa. However, when ever I see a yellow BRZ I get a little tear over what might have been...

The BRZ I bought but never got to take delivery.

Oof. Got the car back today. The fuck with this new clutch? When I test drove a '17 BRZ, I thought the owner might have removed the clutch spring because it felt soooo different than my '13. Lo and behold, my new clutch feels just like the BRZ. Super light and grabby. I thought I read somewhere that they updated the clutch at some point, or maybe it is just because it is so new. Not sure, but I miss how the old one felt.

After 1 week without the car, it felt so strange to drive. I'm super paranoid about every noise and feel right now. I think my brain just adjusted to what normal cars are like and I have to re-adjust back to this rachet-ass experience.

Can't speak directly to what you're experiencing but new clutches will feel different. Go easy for 500 miles. After that it should be, for the most part, broken in. Clutch, flywheel, and pressure plate all have more texture (grip) when new so could seem grabby.

Good to hear. Right now I'm bucking around like a new driver. It also feels like the car is still "learning" after being unplugged. It feels like the first 25% of the peddle won't do anything, then I get all the fuel. All of that together is messing with my brain and left leg, and my overall confidence.

Have a read. I was curious as well (just to learn more about the system).
